Bishop Hector shares about the flooding in Texas and how one can respond
🙏🏽CALL TO PRAYER AND ACTION FOR CENTRAL TEXAS🙏🏽
Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation caused by the catastrophic floods across Central Texas. Lives have been tragically lost, families uprooted, and entire communities left reeling. In the midst of such sorrow and uncertainty, we turn to the One who is our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in times of trouble. We are also monitoring the floodings and wildfires in the Nex Mexico area.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Let us come together in prayer:
• 🕊️ For those who mourn—may they be surrounded by comfort and peace.
• 🏠 For those who are displaced—may they find shelter, safety, and hope.
• 🚑 For first responders and volunteers—may they be upheld by God’s strength and courage.
• 🏛️ For local, state, and federal officials—may wisdom and compassion guide their leadership.
• ❤️ For our communities—may we be stirred to compassion, generosity, and faithful action.
As United Methodists, we are a connectional people. In times like these, we are called to embody the love of Christ, not only through our prayers, but through our presence, our gifts, and our service.
