Bishop Hector shares about the flooding in Texas and how one can respond
đđ˝CALL TO PRAYER AND ACTION FOR CENTRAL TEXASđđ˝
Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation caused by the catastrophic floods across Central Texas. Lives have been tragically lost, families uprooted, and entire communities left reeling. In the midst of such sorrow and uncertainty, we turn to the One who is our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in times of trouble. We are also monitoring the floodings and wildfires in the Nex Mexico area.
âGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.â Psalm 46:1
Let us come together in prayer:
⢠đď¸ For those who mournâmay they be surrounded by comfort and peace.
⢠đ For those who are displacedâmay they find shelter, safety, and hope.
⢠đ For first responders and volunteersâmay they be upheld by Godâs strength and courage.
⢠đď¸ For local, state, and federal officialsâmay wisdom and compassion guide their leadership.
⢠â¤ď¸ For our communitiesâmay we be stirred to compassion, generosity, and faithful action.
As United Methodists, we are a connectional people. In times like these, we are called to embody the love of Christ, not only through our prayers, but through our presence, our gifts, and our service.
If you feel led to give, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is actively supporting disaster response in the affected areas. You can donate directly here:
