During this week’s youth Bible study, following the commemoration of St. May last week, the senior group discussed the Virgin Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant. Holy Virgin Mary is honored as the Ark of the New Covenant because she carried Jesus Christ—the living Word of God, the true Bread from Heaven, and the eternal High Priest—in her womb. By comparing Old Testament passages about the Ark of the Covenant with New Testament events in Mary’s life, there are many parallels that reveal her unique role in God’s plan of salvation. Mary’s humility, obedience, trust in God, and lifelong purity, showing why the Church gives her deep reverence while always pointing to Christ as the center of faith and salvation.
The junior group focused on why we must pray as baptized Christians. Prayer is more than asking God for things — it’s building a relationship with Him. Through prayer, we find peace, strength, and guidance in every season of life. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6
