Protection only works when you put it on.

God has equipped you with everything you need to stand firm against whatever comes your way. Make the choice daily to put it on.

Belt of Truth: Renew your mind on God’s word. Daily. The best defense against counterfeit is an intimate knowledge of the real thing. Jesus said, “I am the truth.” Get to know Jesus so well that you recognize what doesn’t sound like him.

Breastplate of Righteousness: You are clothed with the very righteousness of Christ. When God looks at you, he sees his son Jesus. You have been forgiven, adopted, redeemed, bought by the blood of the lamb. Therefore, live in a manner worthy of the calling that you’ve been given because this is who you are. 

Sturdy Sandals: Every time you step outside your door, you step out as a carrier of the gospel of peace. Be a carrier of peace.

Shield of Faith: Stay close to people who strengthen your faith. If you want to grow in faith, get around people of faith. 

The Helmet of Salvation: The helmet protects the head, the mind, the center of our thoughts, beliefs, and perspective. The enemy’s favorite battleground is your mind. Guard your mind. Test your thoughts against the reality of your salvation in Jesus.

The Sword of the Spirit: This is your only offensive weapon—the Word of God. The sword of the Spirit is given to you so you can strike back and advance against the darkness. When Jesus was tempted he said, “It is written,” wielding the Word of God like a sharp, double-edged sword. That’s how we take our stand.
