Freedom Foundations is designed to help believers recognize areas where God may want to bring deeper healing, greater freedom, and restoration.

Through biblical teaching and guided ministry, we’ll explore things like unresolved hurts, unforgiveness, unhealthy patterns, false beliefs, and spiritual strongholds that can quietly affect how we think, respond, and relate to others.

This is an opportunity to step away, make room for God, and allow His truth to reach areas of your life that may still need His attention.

What does faith look like when God asks you to wait, move, stand firm, or step into something you’ve never faced before?

In this message, Christine Caldwell explores how biblical faith is more than simply believing something—it requires a response. Through the lives of Abraham, Moses, the Israelites, and Joshua, she shows how God develops our faith differently in different seasons.

Sometimes faith means waiting when nothing appears to be changing. Sometimes it means trusting God through a delay. Sometimes it means taking action, obeying while afraid, or stepping into the water before you see the way open.

Christine also shares personal experiences of learning to trust God through uncertainty, disappointment, pressure, and changing seasons, reminding us that what looks like a delay or detour may actually be part of how God is preparing and strengthening us.

What is Freedom Foundations?

Freedom Foundations is a two-day encounter designed to help believers recognize spiritual and emotional barriers that may be keeping them from walking in the freedom Christ provides.

Through biblical teaching, personal reflection, prayer, and guided ministry, participants are given an opportunity to bring areas of hurt, unforgiveness, fear, bo***ge, and destructive patterns before the Lord.

This isn’t about pretending that difficult experiences never happened. It’s about allowing the truth of God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit to bring healing, freedom, and restoration.

Join us October 23–24 at City of Refuge Church in San Antonio.

We invite you to join us tonight for a special book study on Blood Covenant by Bruce Gunkle, led by Sylvia Crutchfield. This will be a meaningful time of learning, discussion, and growing together in understanding the power and significance of covenant.

Everyone who attends will receive a free copy of the book.

This study will continue as a monthly gathering, occurring on the 4th Wednesday of the month. We encourage everyone to come and be a part of this enriching time together.

Join us Saturday, August 15th, at 10am for IGNITE. This is a co-ed Bible Study designed to bring our church family together around the Word of God. Each month, we meet to study a section of the Book of Ephesians, learning how to study Scripture for ourselves and build a firm spiritual foundation. Our time together includes teaching, group discussion, and practical tools to help you grow in confidence in the Word.

Where: The City of Refuge Church
8800 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78217

We begin promptly at 10:00 AM, and you are welcome (not mandatory) to bring a dish to share. Coffee and water will be provided.

If you are new, you can jump right in at any time. Every month stands on its own while still building toward a deeper understanding of Scripture, so you’ll never feel behind!

Kids & Youth Ministry - We want families to come and grow together, so we offer ministries for all ages:
- Nursery is available for ages 0-2.
- Preschoolers, ages 3-4 will enjoy an activity that follows the Ephesians lesson for that month.
- Kids ages 5–12 receive an age-appropriate lesson that matches the same Ephesians passage adults are studying.
- Youth are encouraged to join the adult class.

IGNITE is more than a meeting. It is a place to grow as one Body, to learn together, and to be strengthened in the Word. We invite you to join us each month as we pursue Jesus, build community, and grow in the power of His truth.
