THE FEAST OF THE HOLY TRINITY

Today, on the Feast of the Holy Trinity, we celebrate the day of the real love, because God is love, as Pope Benedict XVI reminded us in his encyclical Deus Caritas Est ("God is love")

MAY 31
FEAST OF THE VISITATION OF THE VIRGIN MARY

Today, May 31st, is the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.

The Blessed Virgin Mary, while pregnant with Jesus, greeted her cousin, Elizabeth. At the sound of the Mary's greeting, St. John the Baptist jumped for joy in Elizabeth's womb!

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us. 🙏⁣ ⁣“Blessed are you who believed 15 that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled” (Luke 1, 45).

FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Parishioners,

On Saturday, October 17th, Holy Rosary will hold the fourth of its recent Annual Festivals from 11 am to 7 pm. The festival will bring us together as a parish community; allow us to have fun and to say to the surrounding community we’d like to get to know you.

I am delighted to announce the Leadership Trio of Cynthia Pena, Delia Castillo and Shawn Avina. This year we will be making a concerted effort to offer opportunities to families and to youth leaders to be very involved.

A raffle will conclude the festival and the money raised from the raffle will be dedicated to the roof fund. (Yes, we need a new roof on our church!)

CELEBRATING 250 YEARS AND THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Our nation is celebrating a historic milestone this year — the 250th anniversary o the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th. To mark this 250th anniversary the bishops of the USA will consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026.

Consecration is “an act by which a person or thing is dedicated to the services and worship of God.”

Please prepare spiritually for this important moment by joining the Novena to the Sacred Heart, beginning June 3rd - June 11th. To find resource for the Novena, Google USCCB Sacred Heart Novena.

Our monthly June Eucharistic Adoration falls on June 10th which is during the time the Novena will be prayed and two days before the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday June 12th. Please join us for a special evening of prayer.

Second: Let’s bring back the tradition of placing the image of the Sacred Heart in our homes — perhaps in your living room or family gathering place — where it can be a visible reminder of Christ’s merciful presence.

See the flyer at the door of the church entitled: Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Home. The parish is buying a small number of copies of the image of the Sacred Heart to encourage Family Involvement.

COMMUNION TO THE HOME BOUND

From last Sunday those seeking to carry Holy Communion to the homebound are asked not to present a pyx when they are in the communion line.

To receive the Blessed Sacrament to bring to a sick parishioner please ask me about it in advance and each time the Eucharist is taken from the parish church for this purpose please sign the register in the sacristy. Thank you.

MAY 30
FEAST OF ST. JOAN OF ARC

Saint Joan of Arc is a familiar figure in pop culture. We know about her heroism, immense courage and faith. But those that knew her personally spoke of her incredible kindness and charity towards the poor. Her heart made an impression on everyone she knew. Let us strive to live out our faith as boldly and bravely as Saint Joan of Arc on her feast day.

OraciĂłn de las Tres (Espanol)

Lord Jesus,
here we are gathered at the foot of the Cross,
with your Mother and the disciple whom You loved.
We ask forgiveness of our sins
who are the cause of your death.

We thank you for thinking of us in that hour of salvation
and to have given us Mary by our Mother.

Holy Virgin, take us under your protection
and make us docile to the action of the Holy Spirit.

Saint John, grant us the grace to welcome Mary like you in our lives and assist her in her mission.

The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit be glorified everywhere through the Immaculate Virgin Mary..

Amen
