PRAY THE ROSARY ON THE FIFTH SUNDAY
Fifth Sunday Rosary (May 31, 2026) – All Are Welcome
The St. Paul VI Knights of Columbus, Bishop Ketteler Council 1628, along with their families, invite all parishioners to join them in praying the Rosary on the Fifth Sunday of the Month immediately following the 5:00 PM Mass at St. Mary Church.
Take just 15–20 minutes to prayerfully close out August, welcome September, and lift up our students as they return to school.
The Knights also pray the Rosary at 6:30 PM before their monthly meetings, held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Oak Room. All Catholic men ages 18+ are invited to attend a meeting to learn more about our Order.

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

Where did he go? Many times when we think of those who have died, we imagine escape from this world to a purely spiritual place. Jesus' Ascension can leave us in a place of confusion. What happens to Jesus? And why does this matter to us?

The Ascension has been confirmed in the Creed for two millennia. In Jesus' Ascension, we're invited to consider our own ultimate end. Regardless of death's reality now, we believe in the resurrection of the body and the reunification of body and soul. One day, earth and heaven will meet perfectly and without end. We anticipate this "new heaven and a new earth" at every Mass and throughout the beauty, truth, and love of the Church and her members. Today, celebrate a foreshadowing of the fullness we all await!

St. Paul VI's Feast Day is May 29.

May 29 is the day Catholics commemorate St. Paul VI, celebrating his priestly ordination, his papal ministry, and his enduring example of holiness and service to the Church.

St. Paul VI, born Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini on September 26, 1897, in Concesio, Italy, served as Pope from June 21, 1963, until his death on August 6, 1978. His feast day is observed on May 29, the anniversary of his priestly ordination in 1920, rather than the date of his death, which coincides with the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. This date was chosen to honor his lifelong dedication to the priesthood and his exemplary Christian holiness.

St. Paul VI is remembered for concluding the Second Vatican Council, promoting liturgical reform, ecumenical dialogue, and the global proclamation of the Gospel. He was also the first Pope to travel extensively, visiting all five continents, and he emphasized the call to holiness in everyday Christian life. His feast day serves as a reminder of his dedication to the Church and his efforts to guide it through a period of significant renewal and modernization.

PRAYER FOR MOTHERS

Heavenly Father,
from the beginning you have chosen to entrust
the human persoan to mothers in a special way.
We thank and praise you for the gift of mothers;
for their tenderness, care, and compassion,
for their intuition and encouragement,
for commitment and sacrifice.
Bless all mothers this day.
Keep, strengthen, and refresh them
in your loving care.
May they be blessed by our open-hearted
love and gratitude.
Amen.
