Mom & Me was a weekend full of worship, laughter, and unforgettable core memories made between girls and the moms and special women in their lives. On the mountain, hearts were strengthened through devotions, missions education, and meaningful moments that left a lasting impact.

With this year’s theme, GLOW: Go Light Our World, these girls were encouraged to shine brightly for Christ through both faith and action—raising money to support roof repairs at CrossRoads Camp and collecting needed items for Isaiah 117 House to show love to children in foster care.

Thank you to everyone who poured so selflessly into this weekend. We are so proud of these girls and all God is doing through them. We'll see you next year at Mom & Me 2027!

What an incredible time we had at the 2026 Sisters Who Care Conference! It was a meaningful gathering of African American women coming together for encouragement, connection, and honest conversation about growth and purpose.

We are especially grateful for the way everyone showed up, not only to receive, but to pour into one another and into our community. Together, we collected nonperishable food items for Solomon’s Porch Food Bank, keeping mission at the center of what we do.

Thank you to everyone who participated, served, and helped make this year so impactful. We’re leaving encouraged and looking forward to all that’s ahead.

Shine 2026 brought together an incredible group of teen girls and leaders for a weekend centered on being Anchored in Hope, focusing on the steady hope we have in Christ and how it shapes the way we live and serve.

A highlight of the weekend was partnering with Rise Against Hunger for our mission project, where nearly 15,000 meals were packed for communities around the world. Creating space for hands-on missions continues to be an essential part of Shine, and it was meaningful to see these young women engage with that purpose in such a tangible way.

We are grateful for all who made this weekend possible and pray that each girl left grounded in hope and ready to carry it forward.

Two drinks on the new CrossRoads Dirty Soda Bar menu are named in honor of Alma Hunt and Kathryn Bullard, women whose leadership helped shape the foundation of CrossRoads Camp.

We love honoring the women who paved the way while investing in the next generation.

If your teens are coming to Shine next weekend or camp this summer, they’ll get to try it for themselves!

Learn more about Shine at onhermission.org/shine or camp at crossroadscamp.com/camp.

We’re excited to roll out our brand new CrossRoads Dirty Soda Bar next weekend at Shine! Think classic sodas, flavorful add-ins, and a splash of sweet cream. Each drink is cleverly named after our camp cabins, as well as two special women whose contributions and leadership helped shape the foundation of CrossRoads.

Whether you already have a favorite combo in mind or you’re ready to build your own, we can’t wait for you to try them! The best part? These drinks aren’t just for Shine — our dirty soda menu will be available all summer long at CrossRoads.

Check out the menu and start planning your first drink. We hope you’re just as excited as we are!

This Black History Month, we honor the African American women of HerMission, past and present, whose faith, leadership, and service continue to make a lasting impact.

One powerful expression of this legacy is Sisters Who Care, a mission group that affirms, equips, and inspires African American women to engage in culturally relevant, Christ-centered missions. For over two decades, these women have built a legacy of kingdom impact—strengthening churches, mentoring the next generation, and serving communities with compassion.

This work continues through gatherings like the upcoming Sisters Who Care Conference on April 11 at East End Baptist Church in Suffolk, where women will come together for encouragement, training, and shared mission. Stay tuned as we share more in the coming weeks.

We are grateful for the lives being touched and the mission moving forward through their leadership. Learn more and connect with Sisters Who Care at onhermission.org/sisters.

Have you registered your teen girls for Shine 2026?

Middle and high school students are at a pivotal age, ready to look beyond themselves and discover how their faith connects to the needs of the world. Shine offers a meaningful space for them to grow spiritually, build lasting friendships, and develop a heart for missions through hands-on experiences.

This year’s mission project focuses on addressing global hunger through our partnership with Rise Against Hunger. As part of our 2026 theme, Anchored in Hope, teen girls will be encouraged to anchor their lives in Christ while offering hope to others by helping meet real physical needs around the world.

We would love to see your teen girls at Shine next month.

Earlier this month, five HerMission leaders joined WMU leaders from across the country at the National January Board Meeting in Birmingham, Alabama. Newly elected Board President Winnie Wang and Vice President Heidi Craft, along with Board Member Rhonda Luckie, Multicultural Mission Strategist Esther Shin, and Executive Director/Treasurer Bethany Hunter, took part in meaningful breakout sessions, testimonies, and conversations centered on this year’s theme, Meant for the Mission.

Following the board meeting, Bethany joined executive directors for an additional day of Exec's Retreat, where leaders shared, prayed, and explored new ways to engage people in our mission. We’re excited to carry what was learned back to HerMission here in Virginia, putting these insights into action to strengthen our impact across the state and beyond!
