Join us for worship on Sunday, June 7th as we continue our journey through the story of Ruth.

Our sermon, “In the Margins of the Field,” draws from Ruth 2:1–23 and Luke 7:36–38, where we see how God’s grace shows up on the edges—in places of vulnerability, humility, and unexpected welcome.

Together, we’ll reflect on how God meets us in the margins and calls us to create spaces of compassion, dignity, and belonging for others.

We will also celebrate Holy Communion, shared by intinction, as we gather at the table and are reminded of Christ’s presence among us.

Come as you are. There is a place for you here.

All are welcome.

Today we observe National Gun Violence Remembrance Day.

We pause to remember the lives lost, to honor the survivors, and to hold in prayer all who carry grief, trauma, and pain because of gun violence.

As people of faith, we believe every life is precious and created in God’s image. We are called not only to remember, but to be people who seek peace, work for justice, and care deeply for one another.

We lament what has been lost. We pray for healing. And we commit ourselves to being part of a world where safety, compassion, and love prevail.

We also invite you to wear orange today as a visible sign of remembrance, solidarity, and a shared commitment to ending gun violence.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Today we celebrate a special milestone—one year of Pastor Sara’s ministry with us! 🎉

Over the past year, we have been blessed by her leadership, compassion, creativity, and deep faith. Through worship, preaching, pastoral care, and community connection, Pastor Sara has helped guide and shape our life together in meaningful ways.

We are grateful for the ways she walks alongside us—in times of joy, in moments of challenge, and in the everyday rhythms of church life.

As we give thanks for this first year, we also look ahead with hope and excitement for all that is still to come. We are so glad to be on this journey together.

Here’s to many more years of ministry, growth, and sharing the Good News!

Welcome to this Trinity Sunday worship!

Dear Treasured Members of Our Church Family,
May God's peace grace your week, and may kindness guide your days now and always, Amen!

“Pentecost was never meant to stay inside the walls of the Church. The fire of the Spirit was meant to leave the building. The world needs Spirit-filled people who look like Jesus.” -Rev. Sara’s sermon

This past Sunday, May 24th, we celebrated Pentecost. The word “pente” means 50, so Pentecost is 50 days after Easter. It is celebrated as the Festival of Harvest, so that is why there are so many Jewish people in Jerusalem as we see in Acts 2:1-21. The Holy Spirit fills them all. Pentecost is also known as the birthday of the Church. Rev. Sara preached on John 14:16-17, Philippians 4:4-7, and Acts 2:1-21 with her sermon titled “Filled, Formed, and Sent.”

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Trinity Sunday. The Trinity is the Three-in-One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We’ll also start a six week sermon series on Ruth and Esther, with Rev. Sara preaching on Matthew 5:3-9 and Ruth 1:1-22, with the sermon titled “Where You Go, I Will Go.” The next day, Monday June 1st, marks one year of Rev. Sara being our pastor!

If you missed the service or would like to watch and listen to it again, please use the link below to connect to the page. As a reminder, you will need to have a Facebook account to access the livestream.
Bible Study: Join us for Bible Study led by Rev. Sara each Thursday at 11:00 AM! This is a welcoming, conversational time to explore Scripture, share insights, and grow in faith together. Whether you’re new to the Bible or have been studying it for years, there’s a place for you at the table. Come as you are—questions, curiosity, and all! This is what we are studying in May:

May 28th: Matthew 5:3-9 and Ruth 1:1-22

NO BIBLE STUDY JUNE 4th!

Book Study: During June and July in lieu of Bible Study, we will be reading a book called “Founding Faith” by Steven Waldman (click the link to learn more!) to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! During this book study, we’ll examine the faith of our founding fathers and how it influenced them. We will have a Wednesday night Zoom session at 7pm starting June 10th and 11am Thursdays in person starting June 11th. If you are interested, please email Rev. Sara ([email protected]) or let her know in-person so we can get a count of how many books to purchase - the church will purchase the book for you to keep!

The Deacons of UPC: We have a really incredible team of Deacons here at UPC who assist with pastoral care and any other needs of our congregation and community. You are invited to reach out to them or Rev. Sara with any needs you have. They are a wonderful resource and we are so blessed to have these folks serving our flock:

Wendy Baumgartner, Secretary
Polly Giese
Dave Jasperson
Mary Vande Voort
