It's even more fun to learn when you do some great activities! Mrs. Sabol's 3 year Preschool and 4 year Pre-K classes recently learned the letter D through some awesome science! Kids were able to crack open dinosaur eggs using vinegar and baking soda to find the dino friend waiting for them inside.

Time to reveal the cutie we shared on Friday...It's Ms. Meme!

Mary Ellen, or "Ms. Meme" as we call her, is the teacher's assistant for Junior Kindergarten! This is her second year working at GSCP, and we are so grateful that she's here! Meme is a wizard with a Cricut, gives the best hugs, and knows how to bring a smile to anyone who walks through our doors! Some fun facts about Ms. Meme:

- She likes her eggs "dippy!" Pittsburghers know what that means! 🐣
- She would like to be remembered for treating everyone with kindness, which she definitely succeeds in!
- If Mary Ellen was stranded on a desert island, she would want these three things: Diet Coke, eggplant parmesan, and a library worth of books! She's always wanted to go to the beach and just read, so that sounds like a good opportunity to Meme!
- Her favorite thing about GSCP is all of the friendships she has made with the teachers here! We are so glad to call her our Ms. Meme and our friend! 💕

Mrs. Thurston's class celebrated Letter E this week by reading The Good Egg and conducting some egg science! Mrs. Thurston picked out 3 eggs - one was hard boiled, one was frozen for 24 hours, and one was left alone. The class had to predict what would happen with each egg if it hit the ground...after Mrs. Thurston dropped it from her classroom window! SO FUN! The regular egg cracked and splattered, but the hard boiled one only cracked! The coolest of all was the frozen egg, which landed with a fun SPLAT sound - but only cracked the shell and egg white, because the yolk inside was complete frozen! Now THAT"S some egg-celent discoveries!

The last few weeks in Discovery Days have all been about transportation! Students who attended were able to create their own cars using boxes, giving them each their own special paint jobs and adding important parts like a steering wheel, a license plate (custom, of course!) and wheels. The kids also worked on some fine motor skills by creating their own beaded keychains to use for their cars! The fun finished up with a drive in showing of Room on the Broom and some delicious popcorn!

It's time to reveal the answer from Fun Friday...it's Mrs. Benestelli! Did you guess correctly?

Some fun facts about Mrs. B:

- This is Mrs. B's fifth year at Good Shepherd. She's been our Lead Teacher for Toddler Time classes that whole time. She also is in her fourth year of being half of the dynamic duo in our Discovery Days program!

- Her favorite foods are cheeseburgers, French fries, and anything from Olive Garden!

- If she could hang out with any cartoon character, it would be the Scooby Doo gang! Mrs. B. loves spooky things, so solving a mystery with the Scooby gang would be a dream come true.

- Mrs. B. collects Funko Pops, and has an entire room that displays her incredible collection.

- Her favorite thing about GSCP is being with the most wonderful kids and coworkers in the world. We totally agree, Mrs. B!

We couldn't do it without her! We love you, Mrs. B! 💕
