“Could you not watch with me one hour?” Jesus asked this question of Peter in the garden before he was arrested. This week we are celebrating the 40 hours devotion at IHM Parish is the time of blessing and a time of the Lord’s presence with us. We will have solemn exposition after the 830 mass on Monday and Tuesday. We will have evening prayer benediction at 7 PM each evening. Monsignor George Majoros gave a wonderful homily this evening at evening prayer and he will be with us the next two evenings please plan to make this time and spend with our Lord.

The new seasonal liturgical banners were hung today for Lent. Many thanks to our secretary Denise Schmidt and Gene our maintenance man for hanging the new poles. The banners are in loving memory of Mary Krier donated by her husband, Paul. We are ready for Ash Wednesday with Parish and School mass at 8:30. 12 Noon and 7:00 pm

Due to the ongoing problems with the heater in the church, the masses this weekend will be in Sacred Heart Chapel. We cannot use Fr. Sullivan hole because the home in School has their trivia night tonight on Saturday. The mass schedule will be the same 515 vigil. 730 930 and 1130. We regret the inconvenience and we are hopeful. The problem is now being resolved finally.

Due to the lack of heat in the church, the vigil mass this evening will be in Father Sullivan Hall. Tomorrow due to the impending storm and again the lack of heat in the church mass will be in the Sacred Heart Chapel regular mass schedule be by in effect. 730: 9:30 and 11:30. When I was first ordained, someone called the Rectory at Holy Innocents after 9 PM on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving day. The lady calling wanted to know if tomorrow was a holy day of obligation. I thought to myself yeah I think it should be if I said yes it is madam. She said thank you and hung up. Not sure if she came the Mass the next day or not, but I hope she did. “ Ten were healed were they not? Where are the other nine?” I always think of that on Thanksgiving day and every Sunday really

Father Pete Di Maria from Sacred Heart Swedesboro is preaching our 40 hours Eucharistic devotions this week. Evening prayer and benediction will be tomorrow night at 7 o’clock in the chapel to conclude our devotions.
