Har Zion Temple

Har Zion Temple Har Zion Temple is a sacred congregation, proud of our honorable legacy and our ongoing growth as part of modern day, egalitarian Conservative Judaism.

From our suburban Main Line Philadelphia location, we offer the entire Jewish community, which includes individuals of all commitment levels, a sanctuary for prayer and study. Our dedicated clergy, staff and volunteers work together to make Har Zion a place to celebrate in moments of triumph, to find comfort in times of hardship, and to gain insight in the search for meaning. Our size is one of ou

r strengths, allowing us to create quality, diversity and choice in every aspect of synagogue life. Our many auxiliary groups, working committees, and learning opportunities foster an atmosphere of closeness and community.

A little sneak peek before our young artists arrive for VIP Day!

Every class has created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for our Kids’ Art Show, and the auction is officially open. These special pieces were made with so much creativity, care, and pride, and we can’t wait for our VIP guests to see them in person.

All proceeds support our Preschool Garden makeover, helping give our children a hands-on place to grow, harvest, explore, and learn.

Take a look, place a bid, and help us celebrate our little artists!

Last night was truly exciting.

More than 80 teens and parents joined us in the future Levine LINK Lounge as we officially launched The LINK at Har Zion, our new Jewish teen experience for students in grades 8–12.

It has been incredible to watch this vision, led with such energy and heart by Norman Einhorn, grow into something real, exciting, and full of possibility for the future of Jewish teen life in our community.

The LINK is also a powerful example of what our Tekiah Campaign is making possible. Through the generosity and vision of our community, we are investing in bold, meaningful Jewish experiences for the next generation.

Please take a few minutes to read more about The LINK, follow the journey, and share your thoughts. And if you know a teen or family who should be part of this, please help us spread the word.

We can’t wait to LINK together.

Tekiah began the way it should, with joy, community, music, food, laughter, and hundreds of Har Zion members standing together.

Our Tekiah Opening Day celebration was more than a launch event. It was a powerful reminder of what we can create when we answer the call together: a stronger Har Zion, deeper connections, and a Jewish home built for generations to come.

We are so excited to share the photos from the event. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special beginning. We look forward to continuing to share the story of Tekiah in action as this campaign moves forward.

In his final sermon before Passover, Rabbi Seth Haaz reflected on the phrase b'chipazon, “in haste,” recalling how our ancestors left Egypt quickly on the path to freedom.

He also reminded us that this year, for many in Israel, that sense of hurrying is not only symbolic, but part of daily life as families rush to shelters in moments of danger.

As we gather around our seder tables, may we hold them in our hearts and prayers, and may this Passover bring us closer to peace, safety, and freedom. Chag Pesach Sameach.

If you missed Rabbi Haaz’s poignant sermon last week, we invite you to take a few minutes to watch. Reflecting on rising global antisemitism, the recent incidents in Michigan and Norway, and the meaning of the poles of the Tabernacle, it was a powerful and timely message. We hope to see you tomorrow morning for Shabbat at Har Zion.

We were so proud to celebrate Dorene Karasick and Leah Schatz at the Jewish Educators Assembly Awards in Philadelphia on Sunday night.

It was a beautiful evening and so meaningful to see such a strong Har Zion presence in the room as both Dorene and Leah were honored for their incredible work in Jewish education. Dorene received the Or Zarua Award, and Leah was recognized as an Outstanding Emerging Educator, both such well-deserved honors.

It was also especially moving to hear Rabbi Shawn speak in honor of Dorene and Dr. Michael Schatz speak in honor of his daughter Leah.

Mazal tov to Dorene and Leah on this wonderful recognition. Har Zion is so lucky to have you both.
