Thank you to everyone who participated in our Summer Dress Down Communion Sunday. It was a blessing to see our church family worship together in unity as we remembered the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

โœจ Three Nights. One Gospel. One Savior. โœจ

What an unforgettable week at Illumination Station VBS 2026 at Saint Phillip's Baptist Church! ๐Ÿ’ก

For three incredible nights, children, youth, adults, volunteers, and families came together to worship, learn God's Word, build friendships, and experience the love of Jesus Christ. Every lesson, every activity, every song, and every smile pointed to one truth: Jesus is the Light of the World.

๐Ÿ’ก Day 1 โ€“ Jesus is the Powerful Son of God (Matthew 15:29โ€“39)
Our journey began by discovering that Jesus has power over every situation. Through His miracles, we saw His compassion, His authority, and His heart for people. The children learned that the same Jesus who fed the multitudes and healed the sick is still able to do amazing things today.

โœจ Day 2 โ€“ Jesus is the Proven Son of God (Mark 14:43โ€“16:7)
On our second night, we walked through the greatest story ever told. We reflected on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and celebrated the victory of His resurrection. The empty tomb reminds us that death was defeated and that our hope is alive because Christ is risen!

๐ŸŒŸ Day 3 โ€“ Jesus is God's Plan for Forgiveness (Acts 2)
We concluded our week by learning how Peter boldly proclaimed the Gospel after Jesus' resurrection. Through Jesus, we are offered forgiveness, new life, and the gift of salvation. The children were reminded that God's plan has always been to draw us into a relationship with Him through His Son.

As we looked around each evening, we saw more than classrooms and activitiesโ€”we saw God moving.

โœจ We saw children asking questions about Jesus.๏ฟฝโœจ We saw families worshipping together.๏ฟฝโœจ We saw volunteers serving with joyful hearts.๏ฟฝโœจ We saw friendships forming.๏ฟฝโœจWe saw seeds of faith being planted that we pray will continue to grow for years to come.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our teachers, youth leaders, registration team, culinary ministry, planning committee, decorators, setup and breakdown teams, media team, volunteers, and every member who prayed, gave, invited someone, or served behind the scenes.

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Marvin E. Harris, Sr. and First Lady Aronissa Harris for your faithful leadership and commitment to sharing God's Word.

Most importantly, we give all glory and honor to God for allowing Saint Phillip's Baptist Church to shine His light throughout our community.

As VBS came to a close, our mission continued through our Community Bookbag Extravaganza, reminding us that sharing the Gospel also means serving our neighbors with love.

โœจ What an unforgettable day of serving our community! โœจ

On Saturday, God allowed us to bless over 300 children, families, and community members from across Philadelphia and even over the bridge with our Community Bookbag Extravaganza! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽ’

By His grace, we distributed 120 fully packed backpacks, thoughtfully filled with age-appropriate school supplies to help students walk confidently into the new school year. Each backpack included essentials such as notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, erasers, markers or crayons, colored pencils, highlighters, scissors, glue sticks, pencil cases, and moreโ€”carefully selected to meet the needs of children of different ages.

But this day was about so much more than school supplies.
Families enjoyed:๏ฟฝ๐ŸŽจ Face Painting๏ฟฝ๐Ÿฟ Fresh Popcorn๏ฟฝ๐Ÿญ Cotton Candy๏ฟฝ๐Ÿฐ Moon Bounce๏ฟฝ๐ŸŽฏ Carnival Games & Prizes๏ฟฝ๐ŸŽถ Great Music๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ” Delicious Food

Most importantly, we had the opportunity to share the love of Christ. We prayed with individuals who requested prayer, encouraged families, built new relationships, and reminded our community that they are seen, valued, and loved.

We were also honored to welcome Willie Singletary from the Governor's Office as our guest speaker. Thank you for taking the time to encourage and support our community.

A special thank you to Kayatechz for helping us provide new and refurbished computers to families, and to Congressofor donating fun swag including fans, sunglasses, and squish toys that brought so many smiles to our young guests.

None of this would have been possible without an incredible team of servants.

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you to our Deacon Board, Culinary Ministry, Decor Committee, Planning Team, every volunteer, and our entire Saint Phillip's Baptist Church family for giving your time, talents, and hearts to serve. Your willingness to love our community reflects the hands and feet of Christ.

A heartfelt thank you to our Pastor and First Lady for your vision, leadership, prayers, and unwavering support of this ministry. We are grateful for your continual encouragement as we seek to impact our community through the love of Jesus.
