For three weeks, the NOMADS served at Midwest Mission in Illinois, working on construction, painting, and other projects for the organization. They finished 28 different projects around the Midwest Mission campus!

Thank you, NOMADS, for all of your hard work, and for blessing this organization with your servant hearts. You are all part of the Midwest Mission family!

🤫 SHHH... IT’S A SURPRISE! 🎂

On November 3rd, one of our favorite people and long-time volunteer leaders, Roger McClintock, is turning 90!

Roger has served Midwest Mission almost since the very beginning, touching countless lives along the way. To celebrate this incredible milestone, we want to shower him with birthday cards filled with love, gratitude, and favorite memories!

At Midwest Mission, we believe God brings people and resources together to meet needs around the world. This past May, a donation of microscopes from Ames, Iowa became part of that mission, traveling all the way to a medical facility in Haiti.

The story began when a teacher from the Ames area offered used microscopes to Midwest Mission Iowa. Although microscopes aren’t something Midwest Mission typically ships, Iowa Director, Danille Curtis, had a feeling they could be useful in a developing country where access to this kind of equipment is limited. When Danille picked up the microscopes from Ames United Methodist Church, she discovered they had originally come from Iowa State University. These were university-grade instruments!

In a way that only God can orchestrate, soon after the donation arrived, Tanya Oberg, Midwest Mission board member from Minnesota, reached out, looking for quality science equipment to take on her trip to Haiti. The timing was a perfect example of how God works through willing hearts and shared resources!

In the spring of 2025, a Midwest Mission team visited communities in Honduras. Throughout their trip, one need stood out above the rest: school supplies.

Of the 35 organizations that work with our partner, Food For The Poor, Midwest Mission is the only organization providing school supplies to countless communities that would otherwise go without. After talking with Food For The Poor, organizations on the ground, and teachers, we decided to start collecting specific used school supplies to help provide resources to more schools.

Sending Student Kits filled with new school supplies would remain the priority. But in an effort to send more supplies while keeping usable school supplies out of the trash in the U.S., a new project began.
