Villa Maria Catholic Life Conference and Retreat Center The Villa Maria started life in the mid-1950's as an educational facility for diocesan seminarians. Lincoln Greens Golf Course is also nearby.

The Villa Maria Catholic LIfe Center Conference and Retreat Center provides a setting for retreats, ministry and faith formation, meetings and workshops to further the evangelical call to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our time and place. These grounds still fulfill their original purpose of education and spiritual enrichment today. Set in a quiet, residential neighborhood, the Villa Maria

offers a beautiful view of Lake Springfield. The gently rolling grounds with dozens of mature trees entice you to take a stroll and unwind. A path leads from our grounds into Lincoln Memorial Gardens, which boasts a number of well groomed trails for longer walks. The tranquil and reflective atmosphere is continued inside our buildings. Many rooms offer a spectacular view of the grounds , while keeping you comfortable in our climate-controlled environment.

At the Villa Maria, it is very common to see wildlife on the grounds. But last Sunday, we had a first: A rather ambitious snapping turtle decided to scale our rear stairway, I guess to "see what he could see." (Oh the captions). It settles the question folks that turtles DO climb stairs. 😳 Who'd a thought? 🤔
