✨Recent Work Trip Reflections: Visiting Trappist Caskets ✨

We were incredibly blessed to recently take a work trip to tour the Trappist Caskets facility. This was more than just a tour; it was a deeply meaningful experience.

Meeting the monks who take part in crafting these beautiful caskets and urns was both humbling and inspiring. Their work is a profound expression of faith, compassion, and craftsmanship. Each casket is prayerfully made, blessed, and serves as a labor of love rooted in centuries-old traditions of mercy—to bury the dead and to pray for the dead.

The Trappist monks see their carpentry not just as work, but as a form of prayer, a continuation of creation, and a connection to Christ and St. Joseph. Their dedication to both manual labor and contemplative prayer is something we will carry with us long after this visit.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to witness firsthand how their faith and skill come together in such a beautiful, sacred way. 💒🪵🕊️

Friends in Christ,

We’re so excited to invite you to the dedication of our new rosary garden at Resurrection Cemetery! It’s a beautiful, peaceful space we’ve been looking forward to sharing with the Catholic community. Join us for the blessing with Archbishop McKnight on July 30 at 10 a.m. We’d love to see you there!

Central to the garden is a shelter area with cremation niches built into the four corner columns.

Happy 4th of July!

Today we celebrate the gift of freedom and say a special prayer for the heroes who helped secure it.

As fireworks light up the sky, may we also let gratitude fill our hearts — for faith, for country, and for those who’ve gone before us.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord… and God bless America!

Quiz of the Week from Mt. Calvary Lansing! 🌳

We love discovering the stories behind the beautiful monuments in our cemetery. This striking sculpture, a silent witness to history, dates back to the 1940s and prompts an interesting question about funerary art from that era:

Which is true about cemetery monuments during the 1940s?

Take a guess by picking A, B, or C in the comments below! We'll be revealing the correct answer soon. Let's see how much you know about our local past!

This morning’s sunrise brought a beautiful peace over the cemetery — golden light shining on the Cross, where Jesus gave everything for us. Though the scene of Calvary is one of sorrow, the rising sun reminds us that the story didn’t end there.

This holy ground speaks of loss, yes — but even more, of life eternal. Because through the Cross, death was not the end. And in the rising sun, we glimpse the glory of the Resurrection.

In the quiet presence of our departed loved ones, we remember the sorrow of the Cross — but also the promise it holds.

May every sunrise remind us: Christ’s love is stronger than death.

“From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!” - Psalm 113:3
