Blue Valley Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a community of faith that gathers to worship God, to enjoy God and to serve others in a neighborhood that has no limits. a pioneering church affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We operate as a Senior Adult Chaplaincy. We worship every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the Marvin Room (at Silvercrest at Deercreek retirement community located at 13060 Metcalf in Overland Park, KS). Silvercrest sits back off Metcalf, there is not sign for Blue Valley Christian Church. Come in the front door and there is a reception desk as you enter. The receptions will help you sign in and we meet in the room right across from the reception desk. We are casual in our dress and our service lasts for 30 minutes. We are pioneering a new form of ministry – worshiping and having fellowship with, and ministering to residents and staff of senior living centers. All are welcome. We serve communion weekly to all who wish to receive communion. Along with our weekly service, we offer other activities throughout the year. These include fellowship activities such as holiday gatherings and ice cream socials, working on a mission outreach projects such as collecting food items or putting together health kits for those in need, gathering school supplies in the fall, beach party, service of the longest night in December for those struggling with the holidays, and much more. We are all on a spiritual journey and most times we have more questions than answers. We welcome people of all faiths and respect where each of us is on our journey. We gather to worship God and strive to follow the example Jesus gave us regarding how to love and have compassion for all people.
