Easter isn't just an event; it's a reality we live in every single day because Jesus lives! And as long as he lives, we have π—›π—’π—£π—˜. Easter hope is more than just wishful thinking, more than just positive conceptualization. It is an unshakable certainty that because Jesus rose from the dead to eternal glory and life, the end of our story will be glory and life, too. No matter what happens, he is the proof that our future is one we can look forward to, and he is the one who lives to make it so. Join us for a sermon series in 1 Peter as we rejoice in this truth: A living Savior means a living hope!

"Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!"

There are countless forces that weigh us, pull us, drag us down. Down into anxiety, down into guilt, down into isolation, down into purposelessness, down into despair. And whether we like it or not, every day life ticks away as death drags us slowly - or sometimes not so slowly - down into the grave.

But on Easter, we discover something different: Jesus has risen! He has carried our guilt, worn our shame, and been dragged down by them to death and hell. But then he tore open the grave and left it behind to rise to new and eternal life! Now he promises that no matter how far we sink, he lives to bring us up from the depths and into forgiveness, honor, and glory.

This is the message of Easter! Join us at Rock of Ages to celebrate.

Holy Week: The Gospel in Real Time

Most of the time, we interact with the story of the gospel in clips, excerpts, and episodes. We read a parable here, a miracle account there, a bit of Jesus' teaching over here. But during Holy Week, we slow ourselves down to take it in real time.

Beginning next Sunday, you are invited to worship with us as we observe the week leading up to Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection one day at a time. Gather with us as we acclaim him as the King come to save his people, remember his love in the upper room, witness his willing suffering and death, and rejoice in his death-shattering resurrection. Join us to worship and wonder at the great acts of God's deliverance and love!

Due to the winter weather and frigid temperatures, we have decided to exercise an abundance of caution and cancel worship and Bible study for Sunday, January 25.

If you'd like to tune in to a live-streamed service, consider being a "fly on the wall" at one of our area WELS sister congregations, linked below.

THEME: The Imminent Arrival of IMMANUEL

β€œImmanuel” means β€œGod with us.” It was a name given to Jesus already 700 years before he was born, telling us just how important a person he would be. In him, God himself is with us. In the incarnation, God came near to us by taking on our human flesh and nature. And today, God is still with us. We encounter him in a special way when we gather with two or three others in worship. He is so near to us that the thrill of anticipation is almost unbearable. Let it wash over you as you prepare to celebrate Christmas!

"Far from Home" - Isaiah 11:1-10

At Christmas, God leaves his home to enter our exile so that, by grace through faith, we might be brought home to himβ€”a gift we could never earn but freely receive in Christ.

Advent Midweek Meditations at 6:30 PM tonight
"No Place Like Home" - Isaiah 55:1-5

On Christmas, Jesus came into our world so that we could have a home with God. And there's no place like that home with him! In the Lord's house, there is life-giving foodβ€”free, abundant, and without end. It secures a place we cannot lose and sends us on a mission we must not ignore.

Advent Midweek Meditations
Wednesdays at 6:30 PM

When our sin cut us off from the home with God we were created for, God sent his Son to bring us back to him. 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah preached that message of hope. 2000 years after the first Christmas, his words still speak hope to us. Join us as we prepare our hearts to celebrate Christmas with this midweek devotional service series "Coming Home for Christmas."

A new mission plant is coming to the Kansas City metro! Keep the core group in your prayers, and keep an eye out for opportunities to learn more and help out!

Olathe, located in the fast-growing southwest Kansas City metro area, has seen its population surge with continued growth expected. Major employers have fueled this expansion, making Olathe one of the most affordable and family-friendly cities in the nation. The Nebraska District Mission Board has been working with Mt. Olive in Overland Park, Kan., to establish a new mission, gathering a dedicated core group and hosting regular Bible studies and planning meetings. With strong support from Mt. Olive and a clear vision for outreach, the Olathe mission is poised to reach many new families with the gospel.

Join us for a new worship series starting this Sunday!

A recent study revealed that the most important factor for human well-being is not amusement, contentment, excitement, gratitude, or even happiness. It’s hope. But where can we find hope in a chaotic and uncertain world? Is it truly realistic to think that our sadness and struggle will one day be over, that our emptiness will be filled? You won’t find such hope in the world. But you will find it in Christ. He is the One who took the worst the world could give and came out the other side alive and glorious. He is the one who bore our sins so that his path and his victory could become ours. He is the one who has promised to return to this chaotic and uncertain world and remake it the way it was always meant to be. His Word of promise and his impending return fill every day of our lives on earth with hope. And Hope Changes Everything.
