Ten years ago, Church on Purpose began with just 10 people who believed in the vision. Today, we are 99 faithful members strong and still growing.

What started small has become a family, a ministry, and a testimony of what God can do when people believe, serve, and stay committed to the purpose.

As we prepare to celebrate our 10th Anniversary: BELIEVE BIGGER, we invite you to join us throughout September and October as we honor the journey, celebrate what God has done, and look forward to what’s next.

10 members then. 99 faithful members now. And we’re still counting.

For 10 years, God has been faithful. For 10 years, we’ve believed. And now He’s calling us to BELIEVE BIGGER!

Church On Purpose is in the city and for the city!

We’re proud to support the Good Grief Group, led by our very own Kizzetta Holmes through The Holmes Healing Initiative. This faith-based support group provides a safe space for those navigating grief and loss to find healing, hope, and community.

We’re grateful to see our members living on purpose and meeting real needs throughout our community.

At CoP, ministry goes beyond Sunday. We are in the city, serving the city, and loving people on purpose.

It is with heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for a life faithfully lived, that Church on Purpose announces the passing of our beloved Executive Minister, Rev. David L. Chapman, who transitioned home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Rev. Chapman was much more than a minister to our church family. He was a teacher, encourager, servant, mentor, and a steady presence who loved God and loved people well. His kindness, wisdom, faithfulness, and commitment to ministry touched countless lives, and we are grateful for every moment God allowed us to share with him.

We ask that you keep his beloved wife, Beverly, their children, grandchildren, extended family, and our entire Church on Purpose family lifted in prayer during this time.

As we grieve, we also celebrate a life of service and a legacy of faith that will continue to speak for generations.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” — Zechariah 4:6

In lieu of flowers, Rev. Chapman requested that donations be made in his honor to Church on Purpose to continue pouring into the ministry he so loved.
