This week's practice: Sitting in the long & loving gaze of God

1. Get comfortable in silence. Turn off devices. You can place your feet on the floor, rest your hands in your lap or lay down... Whatever your posture of prayer or receiving might be.
2. There is no need to pray the right words, solve a problem, or accomplish anything. Simply be.
3. Take notice of your breathing. Inhale and exhale slowly.
4. Spend 4-5 minutes (or longer) picturing God's long and loving gaze over you. Behold the One beholding you.
5. If a distraction arises, picture that thought like a leaf and let it fall to the ground and come back to His loving gaze.

Each week throughout this sermon series, "Into the Quiet", we will focus on a different contemplative practice of Jesus that helps us to slow down & become aware of the Lord's presence with us.
