Tomorrow is Communion Sunday and the first week of our new sermon series!

Rooted in the United Methodist vision statement - Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously - this sermon series is being used by congregations across the Virginia UMC conference AND the church globally to reflect on what it means to follow Jesus Christ in today's world and respond with renewed commitment and hope.

There is power in unity! When United Methodists around the world pray the same prayers, reflect on the same Scriptures, and seek the same miracle together, a holy momentum is created that deepens faith, strengthens our witness, and renews our shared mission.

Be a part of this momentum. We are joining with United Methodist congregations in Tanzania, the Philippines, Hungary, and 30,000 churches around the world!

The deadline for the Ghent UMC Scholarship application is Monday, September 7, 2026.

To qualify, you must be a Ghent UMC church member attending college full time (12+ credit hours, undergraduate or graduate studies).

Previous recipients must have a C or better grade average. If interested in applying, email your transcript to the church office at [email protected].
