Join us for this year's community Selichot Service on Saturday, September 5 at 8:30 PM, hosted at Kehillat Bet Hamidrash (5000 Corporate Woods Dr., Virginia Beach).

This year's program, "Down to the Final Generation: Jewish Communities at a Crossroads," features journalist Dan Brotman sharing stories from his travels to Jewish communities in Tunisia, Zimbabwe, Venezuela, and Syria — many facing the possibility of being the last generation in their region.

A dessert reception and Selichot Service will follow, with clergy from four area congregations joining together for the evening.

This year, Congregation Beth El is honored to join our friends at Temple Israel — along with Temple Emanuel and KBH — for a meaningful communal chanting of Eikha (The Book of Lamentations). Together, we remember the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem while reflecting on loss, resilience, hope, and the enduring strength of the Jewish people.
