On Palm Sunday (March 29) Pastor Donna preached this message: "The King We Wanted vs. the King We Need." In Jesus' lifetime the people desired a king who would overthrow Rome. Today are we really that different? We tend to be impressed with might and power rather than gentleness. Jesus' death on a cross may have seemed to them a defeat, but we in the 21st century have the power of hindsight. We know it was the ultimate victory. May we remember that each and every day.

Yesterday, AUMC hosted a "Bunny Breakfast" and Easter egg hunt for some precious little folks. It was heartwarming to see so many happy faces. Our drop-in visitor, the Easter Bunny, was a welcome guest as were neighbors who dropped by to fellowship wit us. Many thanks to the volunteers who "hopped to it" and gave kids and their accompanying adults a tasty breakfast and an egg-scellent adventure!

AUMC concluded its "White Stuff" donation drive and recently dropped off the goods (white towels, wash clothes and twin sheets) to the Union Mission Ministries, Norfolk!
