A New Testament Church: The Acts Church
The New Testament Church was a Spirit-filled (Pentecostal) Church. Speaking in tongues and prophecy, healing and miracles were a normal part of the life of the Church (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 13-18; 42-47). ed entirely upon the anointing and the presence of the Holy Ghost. The New Testament Church’s expectation of ministry filled with the supernatural was based on the very teaching of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit came, believers would be endued with power and then able to do the same works that He had done and even greater works (John 14:12). With the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the New Testament early Church was able to expand globally while overcoming intense persecution and internal heresies. is committed to seeking the face of God until giants of our faith are willing to pay any price to obey God and advance the kingdom. Charismatic Pentecostal Movement must proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrate the gifts and the power of the Holy Spirit. This Apostolic Church must be a Church of action. This Charismatic Pentecostalism is not some new phenomenon that is being born out of emotionalism. today is part of a new great awakening which places more emphasis on the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the studying of doing God’s Word with power and demonstration. We believe in the power of God’s Word working in the life of the believer. is committed to the restoration of the New Testament Church, with its five-fold ascension gifts, and the receiving of the Holy Ghost and all of His gifts operating in the Church and in the lift of the believers around the world. This form of Charismatic Pentecostalism will be the fastest growing Christian movement in the world. The religious community is asking, “Where is the power of salvation, healing and deliverance in the church today?”
Bread of Life Christian Ministries, Inc. has erupted out of our societies disenfranchised and has raised people to experience faith, hope and a desired will to return to holiness, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Bread of Life Christian Ministry believers accepts Jesus Christ just as He is represented in the Word of God. He is Sovereign Lord, Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, Holy Ghost Baptizer, and Coming King. We believe in the beauty of the Spirit-filled demonstrated in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit in every believer. formerly known as Bread of Life Church, was founded and in operation since December 6, 1985 at 3610 Huntington Avenue in Newport News, Virginia by Apostle Garna R. is a progressive ministry that is energetic in its teaching of God’s Word and integrity of purpose that is reaching the community. The ministry evolved from the Baptist, Pentecostal, Charismatic and Word movements and today is established as a New Testament Church that believes in the whole Word of God both the Old and New Testaments. The founder and overseer of Bread of Life Christian Ministries, Inc. Apostle Garna began pasturing in 1982 with six to eight people in his own home. Apostle Garna’s ministry was submitted to Reverend Don Back under the auspices of the Church of God. During this time, Faith Church of God Mission was started and Apostle Garna was the pastor. The Mission grew and developed into Jefferson Avenue Church of God. The church continued to grow and in 1984 moved to Light House Church of God. On December 6, 1985, after much prayer and counsel with his pastor; Reverend Back, Apostle Garna stepped out into the vision that already existed in his spirit. Bread of Life Church and Outreach Ministries was born. In January 1992, Bread of Life Christian Ministries moved to 534 Oyster Point Road, and in July 2001, the Bread of Life family moved to 13268 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, Virginia, and became Bread of Life Christian Ministries, Inc. In February 2008 the Bread of Life family moved to 646 79th Street in Newport News, Virginia and now the current location is the many arms of the vision are being operated. Those works already established include: Bread of Life Apostolic School of Ministry for ministers training for full-time ministry, Bread of Life Bible College and Training Institute, Bread of Life Ministerial Internship Program, an Apostolic Operation planting and covering new works established under the auspices; a rescue team involved in street ministry called, “Needs are Met” ministry where the Body of Christ may receive food, clothing and other support in emergency situations, a television and radio program called, “Flames of Fire” broadcast, an extensive teaching and preaching ministry. stands as a ministry of prayer, praise and power – called to make a difference in this city.
