You love God AND you’re stressed about money.

Both can be true.

You can shout on Sunday and stare at an overdrawn account on Monday. You can pray for provision while avoiding the unopened bills sitting on the counter. You can make decent money and still wonder where all of it went. 💳😩

Financial pressure becomes dangerous when embarrassment keeps us from seeking wisdom.

Today, we remember. 🇺🇸 We honor the lives lost on September 11, the families who still carry their memory, and the first responders and everyday people who showed incredible courage in the middle of tragedy.

May we make room today for reflection, prayer, and kindness toward one another. We’re praying for comfort for those who still feel the weight of this day and for peace in our communities and our nation. 🙏🏽

Being a joint heir with Christ means you are not trying to work your way into something Jesus already opened the door to.

Romans 8 is talking about identity, sonship, and inheritance. Through Christ, you have been brought into the family of God, which means you do not have to approach Him like someone who is constantly trying to prove they deserve to be there.

That matters because many believers still live with a performance mindset. We think God is more pleased with us when we pray longer, serve more, or have a “good” spiritual week, and then we pull away from Him when we fall short. However, your access to God was never built on your ability to perform; it was built on what Jesus accomplished.

Because of Christ, you can pray with confidence, receive grace without shame, and walk in the identity God has already given you. Faith is not about convincing God to bless you. It is about trusting what He has already made available through Jesus. 🙌

Take a look at your hands today and remember that God can do something powerful through them. 🙌🏾 The work you do, the business you build, the investments you make, the additional streams of income you develop, and the children you nurture are all areas where you can expect the blessing of God to be at work.

Sometimes we can become so focused on what we lack that we overlook what God has already placed in our hands. The pastor reminded us that when God commands His blessing, we can approach our responsibilities with an expectation of successful outcomes because He blesses the work of our hands.

This truth should change the way you approach Monday morning, manage your finances, develop that business idea, or pour into your children. Instead of treating what is in your hands as insignificant, recognize that your hands can become instruments through which the blessing produces something powerful.

Whatever God has given you to put your hands to, approach it with faith, diligence, and expectation. Your hands may look ordinary, but when the blessing of God rests upon what you are doing, you have every reason to expect that what you put your hands to shall prosper. 🙌🏾

What you repeatedly put in your heart will eventually affect how you think, speak, expect, and live.

For the next 3 months, Pastor James T. Elam Jr. is challenging us to develop spiritual discipline around the Word of God. Don’t read a declaration once, get excited, and forget about it. Build consistency.

⏰ MORNING: Give God 5 focused minutes.
☀️ MIDDAY: Stop what you’re doing and return to the Word.
🌙 NIGHT: End your day declaring God’s promises.
🙏🏾 THEN PRAY: Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Three times a day. Five minutes at a time.

Your schedule can make room for scrolling. It can make room for television. It can make room for everybody else’s opinions. Make room for the WORD. 📖

For these next three months, meditate on Galatians 3:29 and Deuteronomy 28:8 and remind yourself of your identity in Christ.

Set those alarms TODAY. ⏰📲
Stay disciplined. Stay in the Word. Don’t quit because you missed a day, get back to it.

🙌🏾 Be careful what you keep saying about yourself, especially when God has already said something different.

If God has made you new in Christ, you do not have to keep introducing yourself by your old mistakes, old habits, or old identity. Your mind has to catch up with what Jesus has already done in you.

Start agreeing with God. When shame says you are still who you used to be, remember that you have been made new. When temptation tries to pull you backward, remind yourself that you belong to Christ and have been called to righteousness and holiness.

Let God’s Word have the final say about who you are.

“Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and…put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” - Ephesians 4:23–24
