Founded in 1805 it was the first non-Roman Catholic church in the entire Louisiana Purchase territory. Today it serves as the official seat of the Bishop of Louisiana, in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. SERVICE TIMES*

Reminder: Acolyte Festival is August 15 at Christ Church Cathedral, New Orleans ! Register now.

Been before? Come again! This year's festival includes new learning opportunities for returning acolytes and first-time participants alike.

Acolytes—and anyone interested in becoming one—are invited to spend time with Bishop Duckworth and diocesan acolyte leaders exploring what it means to serve God's people through this important ministry.

Adults and older youth can also participate in special sessions introducing the unique ministries of the verger (master of ceremonies) and thurifer (incense bearer).
