We are aware of the recent antisemitic article written by a member of the Tulane community that defends Ye’s (Kanye West’s) antisemitic and hateful beliefs toward Jews. Tulane Hillel condemns all forms of antisemitism, racism, discrimination, inequity, and hate speech in any manner.

We are incredibly grateful to Tulane University and our campus partners for their commitment to inclusivity and equity by standing up against hateful and antisemitic language in all forms.

Tulane Hillel will be holding a support circle on antisemitism on Wednesday, January 18th from 4-5pm here at 912 Broadway St.

In the meantime, please know that if you are feeling upset, anxious, or any sort of way about this situation, we are here to support you and to be a safe space. We’re ready with open ears and open arms. Please feel free to reach out to Assistant Director Gary Brandt at [email protected].

Currently, I’m writing to you from the Hillel at Washington University in St. Louis, and things – all of the things – are just not how we expected them to be as we enter 5782, are they?…” Read more of Ron’s Rosh Hashanah message at: https://conta.cc/2WRHotl

The Mintz Center will be open for Shabbat this evening and then closed through Sunday in anticipation of Hurricane Ida. Tulane Hillel is here for you and your students - please reach out if we can support you. We look forward to reopening pending guidance and updates from the University, and once the storms have moved through our area and utilities are restored. We will use our Instagram to post Mintz Center and Rimon re-opening updates.

Storms like this can cause concern and anxiety in all of us. But, through it all, we’re here for our students, parents, and friends alike. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to support - even just to say hello - over the next few days. Stay safe!
