In this season of Pentecost, we were joyed to receive greetings from our sister congregation, El Fuerte Presbyterian Church, in Cárdenas, Cuba. Pastor Alison Infonte Zamora wrote, “The Spirit moves and touches us! The breath of God's wind mobilizes us, and his fire becomes the strength we need to unite, accompany, protect, include, and bring peace...to bear witness to the wonders of God! May the Spirit of God continue to bring our churches closer together, just as Pentecost united such diverse people! May unity and harmony continue to be the visible sign of God's love among us!"

Thank you to all who made our 2026 Grandparent Camp such a success! In line with our theme of "Kindness," one of our activities was to produce 80 soup jars for our neighbors at Bridge House, Okra Abbey, and Raintree Children & Family Services. Check out more photos on our Grandparent Camp page or on the bulletin board in Frampton Fellowship Hall.

In this Sunday’s “Faith250” Sunday School class, held at 8:30 a.m. in the Phifer Library and led by Michelle Baker, we will examine Emma Lazarus’ iconic poem about the Statue of Liberty, “The New Colossus.” When Lazarus was asked to write a poem to help raise funds for the pedestal of the statue, the original intent of this massive civic symbol was to celebrate the triumph of liberty in the American Civil War. Lazarus, a Sephardic Jew, who worked with immigrants streaming through New York’s Ellis Island and who opposed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, subverted that purpose with merely 14 lines of text. Thus, her words turned one of the nation’s most recognized monuments, in the harbor of our largest city, into a symbol of worldwide welcome.

Fire Colors for Pentecost

Pentecost Sunday is May 24! It marks 50 days after Easter Sunday and celebrates the arrival of the Holy Spirit, represented by tongues of fire. To honor Pentecost, please wear red, orange, and/or yellow to church on May 24. On that Sunday, Ashley Brown will preach for the last time as our Pastoral Resident before she leaves us in June. We will celebrate Ashley on May 31 following 10:30 worship so mark your calendars!
