Today is the day! Archbishop Checchio will consecrate our Archdiocese of New Orleans to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Louis Cathedral - Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France. Each parish will consecrate their parish in every Mass and then each family is invited to enthrone the Sacred Heart in their home. The 11 a.m. Mass will be live streamed via TheDailyMass.com and live broadcast on WLAE-TV.

All are invited to join our parish for a prayer service on Fri, June 26 at 3pm and again on Sat, June 27 at 11am for a procession with the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help at St. Mary’s Chapel; and we will process from the chapel to our church; and celebrate Mass with Fr. Steve at 12 Noon. All are welcome.

In his prayer intention for June, the month dedicated the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Pope Leo XIV encourages us, “Let us pray together that each one of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from His Heart, learn to have compassion on the world.” As we begin this Novena to the Sacred Heart, we join the Holy Father in that prayer.

St. Mary’s Assumption Church will be open on Thursday, June 4 from 6pm-7pm for those who would like to pray during the Holy Hour.

This Thursday night, June 4th, all Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans parishes are scheduled to hold a Holy Hour from to begin the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We encourage to attend this Holy Hour in their parish in place of a Christ in the City gathering this month.
