On Saturday April 4, the members of the Sudanese American Nuer Presbyterian Church in Gallatin gathered to celebrate paying off the mortgage on their property. The first group of Sudanese arrived in the US in the late 1990’s fleeing war and oppression in their country. They came here as Presbyterians and have held on to that tradition. Their church is a testimony to God’s power.

It was a profound blessing to worship on Maundy Thursday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jane Herring. The service invited us into sacred fellowship, gathered around a long table in the sanctuary to share a meal together.

Today, at its final worship service, we celegrated the life and ministry of Woodland Presbyterian Church in East Nashville. On Easter Sunday, the congregtion will merge with Downtown Presbyterian Church. Present today were Rev. Carrie Frasier who preached the sermon, Rev. John McCullough who pastored Woodland for 37 years, and Rev. Sherard Edington, Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee.
