I woke this morning thinking about a story I have loved for many years.

In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat of Judah received alarming news: three enemy nations were coming to destroy them. Immediately, he turned to the Lord and prayed, “We have no power against this great multitude… nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

God answered with these powerful words: “The battle is not yours, but God’s.”

The Lord instructed Jehoshaphat to send praisers ahead of the army instead of warriors. As they went forward singing and praising God for His goodness, the enemy armies became confused and turned on one another. Not a single enemy was left standing, and Judah gathered the spoil.

So do not be troubled when opposition rises or when others speak against you. God knows how to lift you up in the very place the enemy meant to bring you down.

Praise still destroys the enemy.

This verse is on my mind this morning ... I hope this brings comfort. There is heartache for so many during this time, it seems. But, hope arises big through God's word.

"You may get what you want ... but you may not want what you get." I know this first hand, and it's so good to be home. I'm not talking about a physical home, I'm talking about "home ... back to myself." You can leave who you are by being influenced by someone else. That's what I did, and I feel like I've been away for a long time ... but I'm back. I'm up very early this morning baking bread, and It's so good to be back to the real me.
