New Visions Baptist Church joined United4Hope this year and has jumped in feet first to their partnership with Two Rivers Middle School. Their church coordinator, Rev. Dr. Aaron Corley, is a Two Rivers Middle School alum and was excited to continue to engage the community that has meant so much to him.

Throughout the year, New Visions has provided meals for school staff, donated supplies for family events, and volunteered in various ways. Rev. Dr. Corley has been meeting regularly with a Two Rivers student for personalized mentoring, which has led to significant improvement in this student’s grades and behavior. Rev. Dr. Corley also served on a school-church partnership panel for a United4Hope Coordinator Meet-Up, sharing some of the ideas he and his church have put into practice.

Thank you New Visions for your dedication to Two Rivers Middle School and for being such a wonderful United4Hope partner!

"Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Today we pause to remember, to honor and to give thanks for the many men and women that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their family will never be forgotten.

What a way to celebrate the end of the school year...with over 190 school/church partnerships!

We came together with a Farmer's Market theme, shared lunch, heard from district representatives, had fantastic door prizes and listened to an inspiring address from U4H Director Jenny Runyon on the fruit of our labor throughout the year.

Scroll through these photos to get a look at the event and see the last image with some impactful moments shared by partners!

The Big Backpack Giveaway is a community effort to provide students with a backpack full of school supplies for the start of the school year.

In the Franklin Special District, we need your help to make this possible on July 25! We are looking for church partners who would be interested in collecting school supplies such as pens or backpacks, or in providing a monetary donation.

If you can help, have connections, or want to learn more, please reach out to Marian at [email protected] for more information.

Earlier this month, MNPS held their Family and Community Partnership Awards Banquet.

One of the highlights of the banquet was the recognition of United4Hope partner Pastor Rick Roberts! He received the prestigious FCP Partner of the Year Award. Alongside St. John's Lutheran Church, Pastor Rick Roberts has faithfully supported Two Rivers Middle School, Margaret Allen Middle School, McGavock Elementary School and McGavock High School through countless acts of service and generosity.

With a deep passion for addressing food insecurity, Pastor Rick consistently goes above and beyond to ensure students and families have access to meals at home as well as snacks during the school day.

As many may already know, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is THIS WEEK! Year after year our incredible church partners rally to encourage, empower and edify our school teachers, staff and faculty; to honor their amazing work they do all year.

We know that this year will be no different! How is your church honoring teachers and staff this week? Here are some suggestions if you are looking for ideas: write a note; provide lunch; set up a coffee or snack cart in the teacher's lounge; fill goody bags or baskets with classroom supplies or self-care items; have a cheer parade where volunteers line up outside of the school and cheer teachers into the building!

However you choose to do, please send any picture you can to your United4Hope program manager, so we can keep track of/share the many ways you continue to serve and love your schools.

Please remember that in all things, you are the hands and feet of Jesus when you choose to honor those who so often are not given the gratitude that they deserve.

Our partner shoutout this week comes directly from the newsletter from Inglewood Elementary School. Our school liaison, Kenya Bass, highlighted the great partnership with Pastor Byron Harvey with New Living Word Community of Faith. Pastor Harvey serves as a lunch buddy to 4th and 5th grade boys. His guidance and mentorship are making an impact with these students!

"Our students eagerly look forward to Mondays, when they have the opportunity to spend time with him—learning how to navigate real-life situations, resolve conflict in healthy ways, and hold one another accountable. A true pillar in our community, Pastor Harvey brings invaluable insight, wisdom, and uplifting energy to both our students and staff.

Alongside Mrs. Nerissa Harvey, they exemplify the meaning of a power couple, always showing up for IES without hesitation, no matter the need. His infectious smile and positive spirit leave a lasting impact—he is truly a gem at IES.” - Kenya Bass, IES Liaison

What a standout example of how to link arms with a school and show the love of Jesus through action and commitment! Thank you to Kenya for sharing and to Pastors Byron and Nerissa Harvey for investing in Inglewood Elementary. They are also appreciated partners at several other schools in MNPS!
