O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Luke Wilson, Duke Divinity Intern

Luke Wilson joins us this summer as part of our years-long partnership with Duke Divinity School. He has just completed his first year in the Master of Divinity program, and he is exploring a possible vocation in teaching higher education. During his internship, Luke will be supporting many of our ministries with planning, teaching, and occasional preaching. Hailing from Oxford, Georgia, he’s excited for his first extended visit to Nashville. He is already meeting folks and setting in well here—please help us welcome him to this joyful community!

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, who on this day taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

What a joy it was to have Caroline and John Bauerschmidt here today to share stories and reflections about their 20 years of ministry in the Diocese of Tennessee. While the Bishop was too diplomatic to vote on whether he prefers Rite I or Rite II, he did share some funny stories! (Ask him about the Stilton cheese.) We loved this special opportunity to celebrate them today at St. George's.
