On March 22, the Sanctuary choir will present James Whitbourn’s “Son of God Mass” during the morning worship service. The piece was written in 2001 but had its origins earlier as part of the score to a BBC documentary on the Holy Land. Whitbourn is a BBC composer for television and movies. The mass is inspired by eastern landscapes and meditative and mysterious soundscapes. It is set for choir, organ, and soprano saxophone. The choir will be joined by Glenn Burke, a fantastic saxophone player and Belmont University graduate.
