Give Him the Glory

"Therefore, whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." "God forbid that I should glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ ..." "... that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever." Know how you can tell if someone is truly sold out for the Lord? They give Him the glory in all things. They don't boast about their own wisdom or accomplishments, they give God the glory. As much as people love to think highly of themselves, there is only one who deserves honor and praise and glory. The One who created, who designed, who engineered all things. The One who created mountains and molehills, ponds and oceans, whales and minnows. The One who created planets and stars and yet hand painted daisies. The One whose brushstrokes fill the evening skies and again with the dawning day. Our God is an awesome God! He deserves all the glory, and in all we do, we should be honoring Him. In our family, in our lifestyle, in our relationships, in our professions, may we give Him the glory and honor He so richly deserves!

Getting Urgent

Of all the Apostles, Paul's ministry was the most wide spread and intense as he traveled far and wide making disciples for the Lord. While all were important to him, some he put more time and teaching into than others and Timothy was one of them. Paul's words to Timothy in chapter 4 of his first letter to him should also be rooted in our hearts. "... but be examples to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in truth, in purity ... meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all." We are, if our hearts belong to Jesus, all disciples and we are called to grow in Him. People, believers and non, are watching us to see if our lives match up with our words. If we are not spending time meditating on these things Paul mentioned so that we may be an example to others, than our testimony to the world's ears will sound hollow! Paul was intense, he always had a sense of urgency. Look at the world today. We need that sense of urgency to help others see and know the truth before it's too late! Grow in the Lord, study His Word, alone and with others, spend time in prayer with Him, let the world see Him in you! It's urgent, but it's not too late ... yet!
