Take It to the Lord in Prayer

There are times when we know exactly what to pray for—and others when finding the words is difficult.

The wonderful thing about prayer is that it doesn’t depend upon finding perfect words. God knows our needs, hears His children and invites us to bring our worries, joys, thanks and requests before Him.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” — Philippians 4:6

Whatever is on your heart today, bring it to Him.

Called to Serve Our Neighbor
Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, and sometimes that love is shown through the simplest acts of service.

A meal shared. A phone call. A helping hand. Time spent listening to someone who needs a friend.

We don’t serve others to earn God’s favor. We serve because God has already shown us extraordinary love and mercy through Christ.

As we go about our week, may we look for opportunities to share that love with the people God places around us.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.” — Mark 10:45

A Faith Built on Christ

The circumstances around us can change quickly. Our plans change. Seasons of life come and go. But the foundation of our Christian hope remains the same.

Jesus Christ.

His death and resurrection are at the center of our faith. Because of Christ, sin is forgiven, death has been defeated and eternal life is promised to those who believe.

That’s the Good News we gather to hear and the hope we carry with us into the world.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

Growing as Disciples. Living Our Faith.

We’re excited to introduce Marco Lutheran’s Disciple in Residence program — a seasonal ministry created to help us grow as followers of Jesus and put our faith into action.

Through teaching, Bible study, mentoring and fellowship, our visiting Disciples in Residence will encourage us to grow in three important areas of our Christian lives:

Participating — growing through worship, prayer and spiritual formation.
Serving — discovering and using the gifts God has given us to serve others.
Sharing — confidently sharing the love and grace of Jesus with those around us.

Grace Is a Gift

One of the most comforting truths of the Christian faith is that God’s love isn’t something we have to earn.

We all fall short. Yet God comes to us with mercy and forgiveness because of Jesus Christ.

That is grace.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8

Faith Lived Out

Our faith doesn’t end when Sunday worship is over.

Christ calls us to love and serve our neighbors throughout the week—in our homes, workplaces and community. Sometimes that means lending a hand. Sometimes it means listening. Sometimes it’s simply showing kindness to someone who needs it.

We don’t serve to earn God’s love. We serve because in Christ, God has already loved us beyond measure.

Growing in Faith. Sharing God’s Love. Connecting as One.
