Why do we love VBS? ♥️ 🏁

For some, it’s the smiles.😬😊
For others, it’s the laughter, the friendships, the games, the songs, and the memories. 🎶

But for all of us, it’s watching children learn about Jesus. 🙌🏻

This week, tons of kids have filled our halls with energy, excitement, and curiosity as they’ve traveled the Roman’s Road together. Behind every lesson, craft, snack, game, and conversation is a team of volunteers who believe these moments matter.

🚨 VBS isn’t just one week on the calendar. It’s an opportunity to plant seeds that can impact a life forever. 🚨

Thank you to every volunteer, teacher, leader, parent, and child who makes VBS so special. We love VBS because we love seeing God at work in the lives of the next generation. ❤️

We had a big time racing through Day 4 at VBS! 🏁

Tonight is our last night and it’s going to be a blast!!! We hope you can join us because there’s lots of surprises in store!

Bring a towel and a change of clothes 😬

⛽ DAY 3: THE PIT STOP ⛽

Every race requires a pit stop.

A place where what’s broken is repaired, what’s empty is refilled, and the racer is prepared to keep moving forward.

Tonight on the Roman’s Road, we discovered God’s solution to our greatest problem.

Our Bible lesson took us to the moments leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. Though He had done nothing wrong, Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be arrested and sentenced. It looked like the end of the story, but God was doing something far greater than anyone could imagine.

Our memory verse reminds us:

“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

When sin separated us from God, He didn’t leave us stranded. He sent His Son to make a way for us.

The race isn’t over yet. Tomorrow we’ll discover how we can receive the gift God offers through Jesus.

🚧 DAY 2: THE SPEED BUMP 🚧

Last Night on the Romans Road, we hit our first speed bump.

As Moses sent spies into the Promised Land, they returned carrying evidence of God’s incredible promise, including grapes so large it took two men to carry them. The blessing was right in front of them, but some of the spies focused on the obstacles instead of God’s faithfulness.

Just like them, we often face a choice when we encounter challenges on the road of life. Will we trust God, or will fear slow us down?

Our memory verse reminded us of an even bigger reality:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Sin comes with a cost, but God offers a gift we could never earn on our own.

🏁 DAY 1: THE STARTING LINE 🏁

Night 1 at VBS, we kicked off our journey down the Romans Road by going all the way back to the beginning in Genesis 3.

Just like every race starts at the same starting line, the Bible teaches that every person starts in the same place when it comes to sin.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

As Eve stood in the garden faced with a choice, we learned that sin entered the world through disobedience and separated us from God. The good news is that God didn’t leave us there. This week we’ll continue down the Romans Road to discover His plan to rescue us and bring us back into relationship with Him.

The engines are running, the race has begun, and we can’t wait to see where the road leads next! See you at MBC for night 2!

We may be in VBS mode this week but another big thing happened today as we prayed over our Youth going to Crossings Camp at Johnathan Creek!

Please help us pray over the staff and students who will be gone this week! 🏕️
