Introducing our Speaker for Akina's Fundraiser Dinner:
Pastor Lowell Paul Laudert (Ojibwe name: Maiingaans, pronounced “Mah En gha ence,” meaning “Little Wolf”) is a retired Army National Guard Sergeant Major with over 20 years of distinguished service, including 17 years in the Minnesota Army National Guard as a full-time Active Guard Soldier. He retired in February 2024.
During his military career, Sergeant Major Laudert received numerous accolades. He made history as the first Native American in the U.S. Army granted an exception to policy to wear his hair long in keeping with Ojibwe tradition. In 2016, he also became the first Minnesota National Guard Native Soldier to receive the SAIGE (Society of American Indians and Government Employees) Meritorious Service Award for his outstanding service to Native American communities and the National Guard.
Since June 2023, Pastor LowellPaul has served as Lead Pastor of Gaagige Bimaadiziwin (Everlasting Life) Church, which has two campuses located on the White Earth Nation Reservation in White Earth/Ogema and Rice Lake (Bagley), Villages. He was licensed into ministry in April 2023 and ordained in April 2026.
Pastor LowellPaul and his wife Maria live on the south side of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Reservation in Onamia, Minnesota. They are blessed with six children and five grandchildren. In addition to pastoring, Pastor LowellPaul works part-time with his son at the Laudert Agency – Farmers Insurance. He and Maria also operate Little Wolf Hobby Farm, where they raise chickens (including Silkies), guinea hens, dogs, and cats, while producing fresh eggs and maple syrup.
