Met Your Spouse @ Hillel Monday
Meet Gayle & Bob Werner 💙
Our series celebrates alumni across generations who found lasting Jewish connection, community, and partnership through Minnesota Hillel. This week, we're featuring Gayle & Bob, whose story began over bag lunches in 1976. What started as casual lunches with friends turned into a marriage that has now spanned more than 47 years!
__
We met over bag lunches in the downstairs Hillel café in 1976, where a small group of friends gathered regularly. As we got to know each other, we started meeting up at Sunday night Israeli dancing at Hillel. Before long, we were dating, and by the end of the year, we were engaged.
We waited to marry until after graduation, with Gayle earning her Marketing degree from the University of Minnesota Business School and Bob completing his Electrical Engineering degree. We married in 1979, right after graduation.
Today, after 47 years of marriage, raising two sons, and careers spanning more than four decades, we're happily retired and enjoying life together in Southwest Florida.
Thank you, Minnesota Hillel, for bringing us together. 💙
