On Sunday, June 7 it was a joyful summer morning to install Pastor Jennifer Schneider at in Minnetonka as Pastor of Engagement. With Pastor Jon Pederson, council, call committee and the whole choir celebrating and honoring this new beginning. God is good.

Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has issued his first in a series of monthly messages that will continue through the end of this year under the title "All Together in One Place."

Each message will share a pastoral word, rooted in Scripture, that witnesses to God’s presence today, our rich theological tradition and the social teaching that connects us.

It was a joyful weekend to be with Messiah Lutheran Church! Pastor Kendrick Hall was ordained on Saturday and installed on Sunday. He serves as the Associate Pastor with Pastor Christine.

It was a lovely day spent with church communicators from Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA, Southeastern Minnesota Synod, ELCA, and Minneapolis Area Synod.

On Saturday May 30 & Sunday, May 31 we celebrated with Nativity Lutheran Church in St Anthony to bless the congregation’s leadership transition. It was following the “Elijah & Elisha” model found in 2 Kings. Pastor Glen who has served for 40 years in ministry moves to part-time pastor and Pastor Angela LaMoore is now installed as Senior Pastor.

On Sunday, Pastor Bryce Bommersbach was installed as Associate Pastor at Servant of Christ Lutheran Church in Champlin, joining Senior Pastor Melissa Maltman and the faithful congregational leaders and staff. In this season, Servant of Christ kicks off a celebration of their 50th Anniversary as a congregation. Much to celebrate. - Bishop Jen

The Minneapolis and Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA interim pastors gathered last Thursday for their annual retreat. In the morning they worshiped together and Pastors Susan Masters and Stephanie Luedtke led a presentation entitled, "Rethinking Interim Ministry: A Collaborative Model for Care and Change." In the afternoon they had intentional retreat time. Thank you, interim pastors for your important ministry to churches in transition!

Members of the Synod staff participated in Pastor Jennifer Schneider's ordination last week at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church (ELCA), Minnetonka. She will be installed at All Saints Lutheran Church Minnetonka, in June. Congratulations!
