Walk in joy!

Sin is a fundamental doctrine in Christianity. Throughout Scripture, we see how sin strips humanity of power, authority, dignity, and peace, while damaging our relationship with God.  

But the blood of Jesus sets us free from the power of sin and death. The Lord pulls you from the fire. He washes you, makes atonement for you, and redeems you. He clothes you with new, clean garments and takes away the old. He removes the shame of your past and gives you a new beginning. What He has forgiven, He remembers no more!        

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Colossians 2:13–15
                                                        
The cross is our victory! What sin took away, Christ restores. What condemned us, He canceled. What held us captive, He defeated. Through the blood of Jesus, we are forgiven, redeemed, restored, and made alive in Christ.

Choosing joy is much easier!

Overcoming sin starts with obedience to God’s Word. It requires a personal determination to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Obedience helps us walk in holiness and live in a way that pleases God. As it is written, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

Sign chasers can unintentionally undervalue the miracle of salvation by becoming infatuated over another miracle. If salvation does not awe you, if it does not cause you to marvel, then you are overlooking the greatest miracle. Yes we want to see the lame walk, the sick healed and the supernatural occur. But our biggest desire is to see souls saved. Salvation is the miracle that is celebrated on earth and in Heaven.

Joy is a state of being. It’s eternal, immovable, and imparted by the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 35:10 declares, those the Lord has rescued walk with everlasting joy as a crown on their heads. That joy does not fade when life gets hard.

Ponle sasón! Season it with joy. Your relationships, your ministry, your prayer life, your leadership; all of it is transformed when you stop letting what is happening outside of you silence what God placed inside of you.

Jesus gave us his joy so that our joy may be made complete (John 15:11). Do not let that joy go dormant. Cultivate it. Practice it. And watch it change every atmosphere you walk into.
