Wednesday Activities are back at First Church Mesa! Join us every Wednesday starting Sept. 9th for a fantastic lineup of community groups, music, and fun for all ages.

Whether you want to catch the game, get creative, or make some music, we have a room for you. Plus, mark your calendars for Sept. 16, 23, and 30, because we will have a food truck on-site with nachos, tacos, and shaved ice available for purchase! Come hungry and support a local vendor while hanging out with neighbors.

I was just gutted to hear of this tragic event in Tucson. Some of us, upon hearing, immediately feel the weight of so many other crimes that have done such harm to the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

A Candlelight Vigil will be held this evening (Wednesday, September 2) at 6:30 PM in Tucson's Catalina Park to support the family and friends of Vincent Anthony Siqueiros and Cameron Davis Capara. Let us pray with them for justice and for healing. And may the Church be the Church today! Let us decry and seek to reform the systems in Arizona that allow gun violence to wreak such needless havoc in the LGBTQ community and ANY COMMUNITY.

I am grateful to our resident bishop, Carlo Rapanut, for this pastoral message to the church. Let us read, mark, and inwardly digest his words. And may the Word become OUR flesh as we ACT to defend human dignity and LIFE!

This past Sunday, we were blessed to welcome guest organist Don Harper, father of our soloist, Meg Gardner! 🎹✨

Together, they shared a beautiful ministry of music, including Craig Courtney’s moving arrangement of “Come Home” for the Offertory. 🕊️
