The Caretaker’s Garden at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Minneapolis is officially planted for the season! Thanks to the care and dedication of our St. Mary’s Field Worker, Baltazar, the garden is once again growing a variety of tomatoes, peppers, onions, and more! These fresh vegetables will be free to the local community for harvest as they ripen in the upcoming weeks.

Learn more about what is growing in the garden this year and when to harvest different varieties on our website: https://catholic-cemeteries.org/caretakers-garden/

While both provide a lasting place of remembrance, a mausoleum and a columbarium are designed for different forms of burial. A mausoleum is used for casket entombment, while a columbarium contains niches for cremated remains. Each offers families a sacred place to visit, reflect, and remember.

Green burial supports a more natural approach that uses fewer resources, eliminates harmful chemicals, and reduces environmental impact over time. It can also contribute to habitat preservation and ecosystem restoration through thoughtful land stewardship practices.
