Meet our speakers!

Our final Speaker Spotlight features Fr. James Buryska, a retired priest of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester.

Ordained in 1965, Fr. Buryska spent 47 years serving in hospital chaplaincy at St. Mary’s Hospital and within Mayo Clinic, supporting patients and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. His work also included training future health care chaplains and contributing to institutional ethics.

Buryska will share his experience in spiritual care at the end of life, including the Sacraments, rituals, and the importance of compassionate accompaniment. Next in our Speaker Spotlight series is Fr. Michael Skluzacek, retired priest of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Ordained in 1980, Fr. Skluzacek has served in parish ministry and seminary formation throughout his career, including 27 years as pastor at four parishes in the Archdiocese. He continues to serve through spiritual direction, assisting in parishes, and mentoring future priests.
