He promises to grant vision to those who wait for it (Habakkuk 2:2-3). From the very early years, God has granted vision to this congregation turning hearts blinded by sin to faith in God's love through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe at this time in the history of Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church, the Holy Spirit is planting in our hearts a vision for the future. We pray that the Lord will
bless our congregation in moving toward this vision." Faithful in Word:
Confidently accepting that God’s Word is Truth (2 Tim 3:16);
Teaching the true Word of God to our neighbors, community, and world (Matt. 28:19);
Being daily in the Word and constant in prayer;
Living according to God’s calling in Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit;
Faithfully attending worship services to hear God’s Word and to receive God’s grace through the Sacraments;
Growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ, our crucified, resurrected, and ascended Savior;
We believe that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh to live among us. We teach and read the Word of God, lead and attend Bible studies, prepare for and attend worship services and “pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess. 5:17). As Christ’s disciples, we abide in Him and strive to live our lives in accord with His will. In this way we grow in our relationship with Jesus and endeavor to walk daily with Him through the working of the Holy Spirit. Joyful in Fellowship:
Walking together in joyful fellowship with other Christians (3 John 1:4);
Excelling in building each other up in the Church and helping each other stay faithful;
Our joy being centered in God’s grace, presence, and peace;
Holding fellow Christians accountable to God’s Word through honest relationships (Col 1:11). Celebrating our joyful fellowship as we receive Jesus Christ’s forgiveness in Holy Communion (1 Cor. 11: 23-28);
As Christians we live in the light of Christ and lift one another up in love and to do good works (Heb 10:24-25). Our joy is centered in God’s grace, presence, and peace. We joyfully approach worship, actively encourage spiritual growth, and tenderly hold ourselves accountable. In this way, we will welcome the work of the Holy Spirit so that we may grow as a community of believers that seek out fellowship with God and with one another. Gifted to Serve:
Being called by Christ to use our gifts to build up the Body of Christ;
Everyone has been given Spiritual gifts distributed according to the will of the Holy Spirit (Heb 2:4);
Having a true, active faith that will demonstrate itself through good works (James 2);
Being willing to use our gifts to serve others wherever we are in our faith walk;
The same Spirit that works faith in us also gives to each Christian gifts to be used in service to others (1 Peters 4:10) and for the building up of Christ’s church (Eph. 4:12). Ours is an active faith producing good works (Eph 2:10) for faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Therefore, we will use our gifts as stewards of God’s grace in whatever station God has places us—in our family, work, school, church, and community—thereby proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our world.
