Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Today, our church is, in reality a multi-ethnic community which proudly includes many traditionally Eastern Orthodox peoples and their traditions.

Assumption Greek Orthodox Church falls under the jurisdiction of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago that is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America Assumption Greek Orthodox Church is a small but thriving church near the center of Madison, located at 11 N. 7th Street, on the corner facing East Washington Avenue. These groups may include Russians, Serbians, Ukranians, Armenians, Rom

anians, and Arabs. It is a close-knit community that is growing as many people in the Madison discover its rich history and moving services and contirbuting ministries. We invite you to come see our Church. The beautiful tradition of the Divine Liturgy, the icons that make the building a priceless work of art, the soaring angelic voices of the choir, the warm and hospitable people, will all welcome you with open arms to a truly holy experience. "The diakonia (work, ministry, mission) of the parish will include proclaiming the Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith, sanctifying the faithful through God's grace in worship, the Divine Liturgy and the other Sacraments and Devotional Services, enhancing their spiritual life, adding to their numbers by instructing others and receiving them into the Church through Baptism and/or Chrismation, catechizing them in the Orthodox Faith and in the ethos of the Church through the establishment of programs, schools and philanthropic activities, and implementing Christian ministries." --Uniform Parish Regulations
