This seminar on the family is vital to all of us, whether we are Christians or non-Christians. The church makes up the family: and for the church to function properly, families have to be in order.

PTL and Happy Wednesday, one of the kindest things that God does for us is turn evil things for our good. Our kind God will often allow bad things to happen so we can see our need for soul healing. So that we see ourselves as we truly are, in need of God. He knows that each one of us suffers from a debilitating disease called sin, that will not only corrupt our joy on earth but will demand our eternal suffering after death. Folks, whether we believe it or not our souls are sin sick.

But one of the greatest barriers to belief in God is wealth. And I don’t mean money. I mean self-sufficiency, thinking what we have is enough. We think we’re ok, but the Scriptures tell us that we are not. One of our greatest needs is to be healed of our blindness to our need for JESUS. I don’t know if you consider yourself a great man, or a great woman, or if you identify as an ordinary person. But all of us are like the biblical story of Naaman, leprous at heart, and in need of cleansing. Question is, do we know we need it? - "Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a l***r" (2 Kings 5:1).

PTL & Happy Wednesday, feeling rejected or unwanted is very painful, but it happens to all of us at times. We must realize that not everyone will always like us or accept us. When others reject us, we have a choice to make: We can let it hurt our feelings, make us feel bad about ourselves, or we can shake it off and not let it bother us.

Jesus knew that His disciples wouldn’t be welcome everywhere, so He prepared them in advance to deal with the rejection they’d face. Because He didn’t want them to let rejection upset them but to forget about it and keep moving forward. In today’s vernacular, He’d tell them to “shake it off!”

Jesus’ advice to His disciples back then is exactly what we need to follow today. When people reject us, ignore us, exclude us, aren’t pleased with us, don’t like us, or don’t accept us, we can shake it off and keep moving forward. We can do this because we are secure in God’s total and unconditional love and acceptance.

Just like when an insect lands on our arm, we just shake it off. We don’t keep thinking about it for hours, days, weeks, or years. But rejection can be so painful that we feel it for a very long time. So, don’t let that happen to you. Next time someone rejects you, shake it off! – “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet” (Matt. 10:14).
