PTL & Happy Wednesday, we should never underestimate the cost of God’s atoning sacrifice for our salvation. Let us never forget, God is holy. We are sinful. No atonement, no salvation. There's not a day when we ought not look back to the cross of Christ with a heart of thanksgiving for our redemption.

God provided the ultimate sacrifice for us, showing mercy to us, in the form of Jesus. God made the ultimate sacrifice in sending His Son Jesus to die for us. Thank God for the incredible love and mercy that He demonstrated through the cross and the blood of Jesus to redeem and restore us.

We have been bought with a price; it should cost us something. The LORD demands much of us. True worship is costly! There are many folks who claim to be followers of Christ. And yet, their following of Christ is only when it's convenient. We aren't simply to follow Christ when it's convenient.

When King David bought the threshing floor from Araunah for the temple, Araunah was willing to just give it to him. But, David refused, not willing to give anything to God that didn’t cost him something. As great as our personal sacrifices may be, the Lord requires “all” of us. Are you giving your all? – “And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So, David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver” (2 Samuel 24:24).

PTL & Happy Wednesday, are you watching what you eat? Just as we’re admonished to be watchful of our food intake to maintain physical health, we need to also be aware of what we are feeding our spirit! In the physical, it may seem more enjoyable to indulge in delicious food like lemon-pepper wings, pizza, potato chips, and black cherry gelatis, when compared to eating healthy foods like vegetables and fruits. However, it isn’t long before we see the results of our unhealthy diet on our waistlines and overall health.

Likewise, it’s easier in the moment to indulge in things that are not good for our spirits, that leave us feeling unhealthy and unhappy. For example: Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney bingeing may feel thrilling in the moment, but they’ll eventually leave us feeling guilty about the time we wasted. Being constantly engrossed in the news can also be draining, as we fill our spirits with fear and worry. Even engaging in gossip may lead to a breakdown in our relationships!

We must be alert to what we may be unintentionally planting in our spirit by diligently watching what we consume daily! So, let us fill our spirit man with the things of God. And as we steward our ‘spirit health’, we will be ready for the trials that come our way. – “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him” (Psalms 34:8-9).

PTL & Happy Wednesday, every difficulty we experience in life is either an opportunity or an obstacle. An obstacle in our way or an opportunity for the Lord to display His glory in and through our lives. Whenever we dare to try anything in life, a particular temptation will eventually come: the temptation to quit. This temptation usually displays itself in the middle of a difficult season, especially when times are tough.

Quitting is a temptation we all have faced at one time or another! And it doesn’t take any special talent to give up and say, “I quit.” Anybody, whether they’re a believer or not, can do that. What’s worse is that we may begin to believe that giving up would be easier than to press on.

So, stop complaining about how difficult life is and start making the most of every day. Stop telling yourself that you aren’t good enough. You can do it. Whatever it is. Whenever you feel the urge or the temptation to quit, don’t give in. Look to Jesus and follow His example. Quitting is not an option. – “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
