When "Right" Is Wrong
John 5:10-47

Our sermon passage tomorrow is a continuation of John 5:1-9. In that passage, Jesus healed a man who’d been an invalid for 38 years. There should have been praise and rejoicing as a result of this miraculous healing, but instead, the man was met with a swift rebuke from the religious leaders for carrying his mat on a Sabbath day. When they found out that it was Jesus who’d healed the man and who told him to take up his mat and walk, they persecuted Him and only seemed to care that He had defied the Sabbath (or at least, by their estimation).

Have you ever cared more about who is following the rules than showing mercy or rejoicing in what God is doing? In John 5:10-47, Jesus defends His authority to heal or even “work” on the Sabbath and exposes the cold legalism of the religious leaders. Join us tomorrow as His words challenge us to not only choose mercy over sacrifice but to ultimately choose HIM!

Living Like You've Already Won
Romans 6:1-18

When we choose to follow Jesus, it creates a "before and after" point in our lives—one that the secular world might view as voluntary enslavement or even a death sentence. And in a sense, they’d be right. We are called to take up our cross and die to sin and self. But we aren’t walking away from freedom; we are actually walking right into it because of Christ’s ultimate victory over sin and death. If we are being honest though, old sins and habits can creep back up and leave us feeling defeated. What do we do when sin tries to re-enslave us, even though we know Christ has already set us free? Join us tomorrow morning as we look at Romans 6:1-18, where the Apostle Paul reminds us that rather than striving for a renewed victory in our own strength, we already have it in Jesus.

"Do You Want to Be Healed?"
John 5:1-9

For anyone in desperate need of physical healing, the question, “Do you want to be healed?” might seem foolish, or even offensive. Yet, in His great compassion, Jesus asked this exact question to a man who had been disabled for 38 years! Jesus gave him a profound choice: Did he prefer to remain in the current state he had grown accustomed to after nearly four decades? Or did he truly want to be healed, along with all the changes, challenges, and responsibilities of a new life? Though it sounds like an easy or obvious choice on the surface, was it really? Isn’t it interesting how when people today are confronted with Christ and His gospel, which offers complete spiritual healing and eternal life, many still prefer to remain on their mats rather than taking them up and walking in faith? Join us tomorrow morning as we look at John 5:1-9 and allow Jesus’ words to confront our own lives and ask each of us: “Do you want to be healed?”

Tomorrow after service Pastor Mike will be offering an anointing prayer at the altar for those experiencing pain and sickness. As James 5:14-15 instructs us, the elders of the church should pray and anoint those that are sick with oil in the name of the Lord! We have many in our congregation right now dealing with back pain, and other issues, and this is a way that we can go to Jesus and stand together, believing in faith, that He will heal!

Faith Beyond Signs & Wonders
John 4:43-54

Is your faith alive in the day-to-day, or only in the emergency room? Too often, we might be guilty of only seeking the Lord during those crisis moments of our lives, or allowing the strength of our faith to hinge on whether or not He meets our expectations and responds on our terms. Jesus calls us out of the shallow depths of a "prove it" faith and into a relational faith that resonates much deeper within. Tomorrow, we will look at John 4:43-54, where Jesus will challenge us to go deeper and believe in Him for who He truly is. He’s not just a wonder-worker, He's the Savior of the world and Lord of our lives. See you at 10am!

The Well That Never Runs Dry
John 4:1-42

Many of us have spent our lives navigating religious and societal labels and boundaries that tell us where we belong, where we’ve been wrong and what people think we’re “supposed” to do. Our sermon passage in John 4:1-42 shows how Jesus disregarded the long-held labels and boundaries between Jews and Samaritans to reach just one person. He didn’t allow past offenses, differences of opinion, temples or mountains of worship prevent Him from offering living water to spiritually thirsty people. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows how to meet us right where we are, so come just as you are and see how Jesus and the gospel of Christ can break down the walls that divide us, even today!

"He Must Become Greater"
John 3:22-36

We may have spent years of our lives trying to be the heroes of our own stories but our relationship with Christ and our spiritual growth depends on HIM becoming the hero of our story instead. It demands humility, devotion, and our willingness to decrease so that HE may increase in our lives. In John 3:22–36, John the Baptist faces the ultimate ego test when his disciples complain about his popularity shrinking while Jesus’ continues to grow. Instead of trying to protect his territory, John tells his disciples, "He must become greater; I must become less." John wasn’t upset. In fact, he rejoiced about it like the friend of a bridegroom. Tomorrow, let us be inspired by John’s effortless humility and be willing to examine any areas of our lives where we might still need to move into the background so that Christ can come to the forefront of our lives.
