According to Our Lady of Fatima, God wants you to pray the Rosary for peace and the conversion of the world, but why? Couldn't He just give those gifts without waiting for us to ask? Here's the latest reflection on our parish website.

On today's anniversary of the first apparition of Fatima, this article explores why God waits for us to ask for the gifts that he already wants to give us. Drawing on the message of Our Lady of Fatima and the wisdom of St. Augustine, it shows how prayer enlarges our hearts to receive God's...

Brother and Sisters of our Beloved Parish Community
Will you consider sparing an hour of your time this weekend?
This Saturday, April 18, Deacon Joe Vavrus could use a few helping hands to spread a “mountain” of mulch around our magnolia trees!

He’ll be working from 12:00–3:00 PM, and many hands will make light (and quick!) work. If you’re available, please come lend a hand and enjoy some time serving together outdoors. Just bring a shovel and a rake!

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” – Acts 20:35

It’s a wrap! Our Sustain the Flame Lenten series was a huge success! Due to the size of the hall we had to limit enrollment to 100 people. What a blessing it was to experience new life in the Holy Spirit with these amazing souls! ❤️🙏
God is good!🙌✝️
Be sure to keep your eye keep out for our next fellowship study coming this fall!

St. Mary’s County was founded almost four hundred years ago as a haven for English Catholics who longed for the freedom to practice their faith without persecution. Thanks to the sacrifice of those early colonists, the Catholic faith has taken deep root and borne beautiful fruit in our area.

The roots of our local faith reach across the Atlantic Ocean to England itself, where Catholicism flourished from the earliest centuries of Christianity until the time of the English Reformation. Saints like 𝐒𝐭. 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐲, 𝐒𝐭. 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭, 𝐒𝐭. 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, and 𝐒𝐭. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 helped spread the Gospel across the ancient British Isles. Even after Catholicism was outlawed, courageous witnesses such as 𝐒𝐭. 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐒𝐭. 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐒𝐭. 𝐄𝐝𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐒𝐭. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐰 remained faithful with heroic courage, often at the cost of their lives.

This fall, you are invited to take part in a special pilgrimage with our Director of Religious Education, Leonard Wathen, to discover the roots of our local Catholic faith. From October 5–15, 2026, pilgrims will travel through England and Wales, visiting holy sites connected to these saints and to the Catholic heritage that shaped the founding of Maryland.

By walking in the footsteps of these great witnesses, pilgrims will discover more deeply the faith that has sustained Catholics in Southern Maryland for nearly four centuries.

Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
