Twenty years ago, we arrived in Lawrence, Kansas with three things: a dollar, a dream, and a six-week-old baby.
It is with profound emotion that we share that today, twenty years later, that same six-week-old baby, our beloved daughter Mina, is getting married in the very same physical space of the Chabad House where she first began her mission as a baby.
Over the past two decades, Mina has inspired thousands of students and community members, even as a young child, simply by modeling what it means to be a proud and committed Jewish woman. Having left the larger Jewish comforts of Brooklyn, NY to grow up in Lawrence, Kansas, she dedicated herself to sharing the beauty and joy of Judaism with so many fellow Jews around her.
Today’s celebration is not just a personal family event. It is truly a celebration of the entire KU Chabad family. Every student, alum, parent, donor, and community member who has walked through our doors over these past twenty years is part of our mishpacha, our family.
There is an ancient Jewish tradition that on the day of a wedding, family and friends say a prayer and perform a mitzvah in honor of the young couple, that they merit a beautiful life together. We kindly ask that if possible, you take a moment today to say a prayer or do a mitzvah in their honor.
Finally, we are delighted to share with you the livestream link to the wedding festivities beginning today at 4:30 PM Central Time, so that you too can be part of this joyful celebration:

With much love and tremendous joy,
Rabbi Zalman and Nechama and Mina :)
