A Colorado come & see full of surprises!
One minute we’re driving through a storm, next we’re hiking up to a gorgeous view, next we’re spotting elk and rams! Visiting Churches, spending time in prayer, creating memories of laughter & joy — all of it playing out as Jesus intended for us 🤍🙏🏼✨ All we had to do is surrender and receive

The Lord brings the universe into play and manages to shake everything and everyone. Except Jonah. Everything trembles. Except Jonah. Everyone prays. Except Jonah, who is still sleeping in his den, hidden away, still believing he can get away with ignoring the hurricane.

What is in God’s heart?
What is He trying to accomplish through the storm?
Does He want to punish, or does He want to bring about repentance?
What storms might be trying to wake me up?
Who is challenging me to return to You?

Jonah gets the message immediately and takes off running, dashing in the opposite direction ! 4,000 miles away from the Lord and his mission…but God pursues humanity with His willingness to dialogue and to forgive an infinite number of times.

Teshuvah. A journey that encompasses multiple meanings; repentance, return, conversion, rebirth. The invitation to “come back” after having lost one’s way or after having taken the wrong path.
The city has indeed done teshuvah.

Will Jonah’s heart be transformed into God’s heart?

Dear Mom,

Thank you for showing me what it means to be a mother.

While I might not be called to biological motherhood, your maternity has inspired my spiritual motherhood.
And oh, how much I have learned from you.

If today I am nurturing and caring, it is also thanks to you.
If today I choose self-gift over selfishness, it is also thanks to your example.
If today I encourage and cheer others on, it is also because I have experienced your constant support.
If today I go the extra mile behind-the-scenes, it’s because of all that I never saw you do, but know you did.

I am who I am today also in thanks to who you have always been for me.

Thank you, Mom. I love you.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Love,
Your Grateful Daughter

Did you know AVI comes from the Italian language where our community was founded?

Apostole della Vita Interiore - Apostles of the Interior Life.

This is who we are.

A community of apostles sent to help others encounter the interior life, a personal relationship with God that brings life to us and to others.

Because the interior life isn’t meant to stay hidden! It transforms us and overflows into the lives of others.

It began with a dream in the heart of Fr. Salvatore Scorza: to form consecrated women who could meet people where they are and guide them toward a personal encounter with God through spiritual accompaniment.

Sharing your faith and evangelizing might seem daunting but it doesn’t need to be.

It can actually be a joy and life-giving.

A parish in the Baltimore Diocese, St. Francis de Sales, invited us to teach their parishioners, of all ages, how to share their faith story and how reach out to others through asking meaningful questions that help typical conversations go deeper.

What a joy it was to see how well this parish responded to the invitation to come and learn more.

Many of them shared that they now feel motivated to go and share what they have seen and encountered in their journey with the Risen Lord.

A big thank you to Fr. John and Fr. Zachary for inviting us and coordinating this mission.

And also to the parishioners, thank you again for your welcome, care, and support. We felt so blessed to be able to come back for a second mission! Know of our prayers!

Comment your parish below if you’d like AVI to visit next!

What would happen to your gifts…if you gave your life to God?

We tend to think we only have two options:

to lose them
or to prove ourselves through them.

But neither of those is what God does!

“these gifts and talents aren’t set aside, but they’re channeled.” -Sr Ruth

They don’t disappear! They don’t define us either.

They are received…and given back. 🙏🏼✨

And in that space…there is freedom. 🙌🏼

We all have gifts to help build Gods kingdom, so who can you share your gifts with?

“Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin Mary too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.” St. Maximilian Kolbe

Ideas of how to love on Mary this month of May:

- Place a picture or statue of Mary in your room

- Bring flowers to a Marian statue at your parish

- Pray a rosary or a decade each day

- Strive to live the virtue of humility to be more like her

- Say the “Memorare” prayer each morning when you wake up

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

It is never too early to talk to children about the joy of giving one’s life to God in the priesthood or the consecrated life. Sr. Tatum’s nephew, Gregory, has been thinking about the priesthood since he was five. As he gets older, the potential call to this vocation continues to grow and so does his creativity! He builds new things for his chapel and even learned how to sew so that he could make a stole for the pretend vestments. His also drew the picture of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Happy World Day of Prayer for Vocations!
