Al-Hidaya Center Al-Hidaya Center Community Group Eventually, that room became too small, and the community purchased a two-story house in 1986.

​​The Muslim Community of Troy (non-profit entity for Al-Hidaya Center) was started by the students of the RPI Muslim Student Association who would rent a small room to perform their daily prayers in the 70s and 80s. The first floor of that home was converted into a Masjid and the second floor into classrooms for the weekend school, youth and adult education, and other activities. For the last fif

teen years, the community increased significantly and outgrew that two-story house. Due to limited space, major activities such as Jumah, Seminars, Eid prayers, Community Iftars, and other activities were held on the RPI campus by renting out their facilities. Many other activities that the community needed were curtailed because of the lack of space. By the grace of Allah, the initiative was started to build Masjid Al-Hidaya in Latham, and the first phase of the project was completed in 2015, with two additional expansions planned for the future. Al-Hidaya currently serves the needs of thousands of Muslims in the capital district and can accommodate 1200+ attendees in the jummah prayer.

Eid Mubarak from Al-Hidaya Center!

Assalamu Alaikum,

We pray that Allah ﷻ accepts your worship, grants you and your family joy, barakah, and allows us all to experience the blessings of Eid al-Adha together.

We are excited to welcome our community for Eid al-Adha Salah at Al-Hidaya Center on Wednesday, May 27th.

🕋 Prayer Times:
• First Takbeer: 6:30 AM
• Second Takbeer: 8:45 AM

🚗 Parking is limited — please carpool as much as possible.
Be sure to review the attached Eid Parking Guide before arriving and follow volunteer directions to help make arrival and departure smooth for everyone.

⚠️ Important reminders:
• Park only in designated parking areas
• Please do not park in neighboring businesses, homes, or prohibited zones
• If attending the second salah, please do not arrive before 8:30 AM
• Zone 3 will use stacked parking (avoid this area if you need to leave immediately after salah)

Sisters: Salah will be held in the gymnasium
Brothers: Salah will be held in the musallah

Please register early to secure your child’s spot. Space is limited, and programs may close before the listed deadlines if all spots are filled.

Important Note: Youth Programs registration is not ready yet pending the hiring of the Youth Director. We expect registration to open in mid-June.
